You can try Capture One but there are not as many tutorials for it. LR and PS are the best retouching tools in the industry paired with a Wacom tablet.

I bought some cheap extension tubes back in the day and hated it. I will probably just get a used Canon 100mm macro lens. I lost so much clarity and sharpness with the tubes, just a heads up.
