They have to work their way up through the minors, just like the players. They're evaluated, and after a certain amount of time, they either move up to the next level or get kicked out.

21 GRAMS is so much better than THE ROAD that it's not even funny.

Both are good (and, coincidentally, written by the same guys). But SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE is the best movie of the year so far.

That's the movie's problem.  WATCHMEN should be anything but straight forward.  That's what makes the comic so awesome.

I started watching this show, but lost interest about halfway through Season One. If you like this show, you might want to check out BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, which was written by the same guy who ran Season One. He left CARNIVALE to do that show, and it's probably my favorite show of all time.
