Economical All-Around Shoe
Pros: price, timeless style, versatility
Cons: diminished quality, high arches (for some)
I have owned at least one pair of Sambas since 1997. They are the only shoes I have used for indoor soccer (save for cleats on artificial turf), and the only sneaker besides Converse All-Stars that i'll wear with chinos. As a casual sneaker, the design is timeless and the black/white/gum colorway goes well with just about anything. For a performance soccer shoe, you can find better performance in a newer design and greater comfort in the kangaroo leather version of this very shoe but the standard Samba has great traction and a nice cut at the ankle for a relatively low price. My only complaints over the years have been ridiculously high arch supports (less so in recent years) and what seems to be a decline in quality - although I have gone from purchasing a men's 7 to a youth 6.5, so that may be a function of lesser quality in the youth shoe. Overall, I'd recommend these to just about anyone.
