Pros: Excellent traction, tight forefoot lockdown, good forefoot cushion

Cons: Heel lockdown not secure

The CP3.VI is a great guard shoe and, for a smaller guy (5'7" ~150 lbs.), these are my current go-to shoe. The highlight of this shoe is the traction. I play on an indoor court, but it hasn't been well maintained in recent months. It's been pretty dusty as a result and some of the other shoes I played in really struggled (Adidas Rose 3) or were inconsistent with moments of slippage (LeBron 9 Elite, Jordan Wade 2 EV). The CP3.VI were squeaking on the same courts and the traction was superb.

The CP3.VI offers tight lockdown in the forefoot. The half inner sleeve probably contributes to the great forefoot lockdown. Podulon cushioning in the forefoot is comfy and fairly responsive, although tends to start loosing responsiveness after a couple of games, similar in feel to Nike's recent Lunarlon shoes.

Heel lockdown was a minor issue for me as my heel would shift a little upwards at times. I ended up doing the high lock method here: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/locklacing.htm. After doing that high lock and lacing really tight, I didn't have any issues. I also tried regular lacing with double socking and that also worked (generally I don't like to double sock).

Overall, these are an ideal guard shoe. Top end traction, great forefoot containment, and comfortable/responsive cushioning. I probably would shy away from these if I were a bigger player like a 4 or 5, as these might not be supportive enough.

I have been reading up on these alot and most people are saying the same things. Great Traction but poot heal lockdown. I am also about 5'7 about 145lbs so I small guy. I am currently playing in the Kobe 5 and sometimes jordan retros just to look cool. At $100 on sale these might be the kicks for me. I am also thinking about the kobe 8 system but they are a higher price plus I hate supporting Kobe since I am from Boston. Any Thoughts? Where did you pick these up for $100?
I got them on NDC before Christmas, but it looks like a lot of places (Eastbay, Finishline, NDC) have them on sale now for about $100. They'll probably be hitting outlets soon too. The Kobe 8's have been getting rave reviews and I just ordered a pair. Obviously I haven't played in them yet so I can't recommend them, but they seem like the real deal. I would say, if you're not on a budget, you might want to look at the Kobe 8's. If you're looking to save some money, the CP3.VI are probably the best bang for your buck right now.
Thank you for your thoughts. My only hold back on Kobes is the fact they are Kobes which is silly I know. I may get cp3 on sale and wait for Kobes when they have a colorway that looks nothing like laker colors. Hopefully all black which I wear in the Kobe V.
I think I will look into kobe 8 system when I can get a colorway that is less laker colors.
I just tried on the cp3 vi on at niketown Boston. They have for full retail. The traction just looked and felt awesome in the store. I may just order a pair of these for my go to pair. I will wait on kobe 8 once I can get other colors. Thanks for your review.
thanks for your opinions
