Registered Member Posts: 756 09/22/11 11:44 PM	its too soon for a 5, probably gonna be called a 4S. even then its still a rumor. i work for att and just like the previous iPhones that have been released, Apple will not release any info until the week they will be released. check out "macrumors.com" apple plays this stuff close to the chest. so until then whether its october or not..i won't believe it until i see it.

Most reports are saying the new phone will be the iPhone 4S but many believe Apple has been able to keep the iPhone 5 so under wraps that no one knows for sure what's being released. My thinking is there will be two new phones with the iPhone 4's price being slashed to $50, the iPhone 4S $100 and the flagship iPhone 5 at $200. Apple can't afford to wait another year for a significant upgrade when they are only putting one phone on the market a year. Also, don't expect to be blown away with iOS 5 it really isn't all that different. I've been using in since the first beta was released to developers in June and all the betas there after. I'm using beta 8 now and I believe the next over the air update I'll get will be the final version just before it goes live for everyone. Don't get me wrong it adds some nice features like all new notifications, but it's more or less just a catch up to android's features. iCloud is really cool and I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy backing up to iCloud and not having to connect with iTunes to backup your data or transfer your music. Being able to store your music, email, pictures, etc. to 5 free GB of iCloud storage that Apple is giving everyone is nice. It's going to be very interesting to see what unfolds on October 4th. Outside of form-factor, I really don't see much reason to upgrade to 4S or 5 and would love only to pay $50 to be offically iPhone-d on Sprint. Furthermore, I know that there is an upgrade fee with AT&T whenever a new iPhone is released and someone is under their 2-year contract. So, since this is Sprint's first time with the iPhone what kind of fee would I be paying? My two years isn't up until March, but I've been chomping at the bit to get my hands on a Sprint iPhone that I'd gladly pay that fee, if there is one. Does this work the same way as renewing the account? I already am on their smartphone data plan. How did Verizon handle this with current customers who upgraded to the iPhone? Thanks.

You'd just have to wait and see about the data plans too. My guess is you probably will get grandfathered into it withwhatever you're paying now. If anyone has ever used a 4G phone you know what it does to your battery. Rather have 3G that I can use all day then 4g that lasts 5 hours. See droid bionic. 2 more weeks.....come on iPhone 5

It feels like they haven't advanced that much since the early iOSs when you see the gigantic leaps android has made. I'm up for an upgrade with Sprint next month though so I'll give the iphone 5 a look. It'll be either be the iPhone 4s/5 or the Epic Touch 4G
