dudes are funny, it's clear you've never even participated in a pro tryout in your life.Lets say a team gets $200 from 50 guys...that's not a lot of money? do you really think the D-league teams make money during the year? they need stuff like that. Ok now lets say you have 50 guys who don't know each other and are hoping for a shot a getting picked....do you know what type of basketball is being played?Pretty much you better be a decent big man to stand out. I mean everybody is gonna make shots but nobody is passing or playing good basketball. Thats what I mean.so after 3 hours they say thanks for playing and we will contact you if we want you. Keep in mind a D-league roster is only 10-12 spots and they already have guys in mind. Then add on the big name guys would weren't drafted to the NBA. You gotta be kidding me if you think you just gonna come off the street and wow the coaches into giving you a shot when they are on the phone with agents all day.

Gilbert Arenas shoots 100 3's and makes damn near 80 of them, with 10 being one handed. DeShawn Stevenson loses but hits like 70 out of 100. Yup, bummy +@# Deshawn Stevenson hits like 70% of his threes. Granted this is nothing but a shooting contest, I'd like to see one of you hit 80% from three point line. My point being... You might think your really good, or you might actually be really good in your small +@# circle... But there will always be someone bigger, faster and better than you. Always.

Hell I coach a middle school team and we had tryouts just to say we did. D-League rosters are practically set. They have dozens of players abroad and domestically that are dying to make the team. Just waiting on a call. Even if someone is good enough, but they are average height (5'10 - 6-4) they have practically no shot of making that squad. Low, low, low probability. So him believing in himself and even being considered a good ball player is not negated because he wouldn't make a D-League team. I think you all tend to forget how few spots there are in this world for professional basketball players. NBA, forget about it. D-League, forget about it. Overseas, do you know how many graduating seniors in college there are every year that are competing for the same jobs? Think about the international players that want those same jobs. Man, jobs are SLIM to NONE. Even if you are good. It is all about being in the right place at the right time man. Sometimes it isn't even about how good you are. And no, everyone in the NBA isn't better in everything than everyone not in the NBA. It is possible that Truth is in better shape than Baron Davis. Yes that is very possible. It is possible that I am a better foul shooter than Reggie Evans, yes. It is possible that I have more bounce than Nate Robinson, yea, very possible. The NBA is home to the combination best/lucky/highest networked 450 players in the world.

What does AO not making an NBA team have to do with whether or not he COULD (once) score 10 points in a game?So again, not playing anywhere on a pro level doesn't mean someone can't do it, nor should it be used as a determining factor.
