Just a few things i noticed at a glance, your sleeves are too short, and there seems to be slight pulling around the top button on your blazer, which usually means the jacket is too tight . These are just my observations, the jacket is definitely wearable, and you pull it off nicely !

IMO that's not the best rule to go by.. there are very few absolutes when it comes to dressing oneself properly, and i really don't feel as if this is one of them while there may not be many situations where black "dress shoes" go well with denim, there are some $$$ > happiness
