i was just like you last week. ended up getting an LCD just because of the better audio. LED, being thin, had to sacrifice its speaker size, thus, lesser sound quality, that is unless you get yourself some speakers and a subwoofer. 

i don't know but Plasma didn't really attract me enough. anybody wanna share what's great with Plasma? 

You no longer have to worry about burn in (unless you try really really hard).

Much better and truer blacks

Lower input lag (for the gamers)

You USUALLY get a better deal w/ bigger screen

Much better when it comes to watching sports.

If you do decide sway over to a Plasma.

I'd go Panasonic, they make the best Plasma screen tv's (imo)

^ That, pretty much all of it. Don't buy into the 120 Hz garbage LCD/LED ads feed you  Plasma craps on all of them. Blacks are much truer, and image is more lifelike. Awesome for movies. LCDs are suited for use in a brightly lit environment where you need a torch of a screen, like at a store, office, school etc. where there's lots of light and you need a very visible image. Like how Walmart and other stores have them hanging showing ads and stuff. I just don't like the picture they give for home use at all.

And Pannys are definitely the way to go, I've had my 42" Viera I got for a deal 2 years ago and have loved it.
