Think about what you are saying for a minute. So a player can have a long standing career where he does everything right and plays the game the right way and he just so happens to be on a squad that doesn't win. But why is it a player can play losing basketball and still be part of a winning team? Does that mean he is NOT playing losing basketball? KG played on losing teams. Teams that virtually did nothing. And I'm not saying he plays losing basketball...I just don't see how you can call it winning basketball unless it produces wins. It's not his fault that his teams lose, but I haven't seen him win so I can't say he plays winning basketball. And people will recognize his talent if his team wins in Minnesota. It has nothing to do with him playing in a small market. It's the fact that the Timberwolves don't win. Look at OKC and Durant. People recognize his talent because his team wins. You don't have to win games to play a winning brand of basketball. I think that is where our opinions differ. Winning games doesn't make your style a winning style in my eyes because you are on soul on a TEAM. People recognize his talent now, he doesn't have to win games. It would be nice but we know everyone can't win. I think we are so success driven that we can't admire talent when there is a lack of success. Everyone can't win. I don't buy the whole, "He hasn't won so how can you say he plays winning basketball" argument. He plays the game the right way point blank. Or whatever point there is in the game, which there is in every game, when it goes from being a potential game you can win to not? Why can't he score in that portion of the game? There's even role players like Robert Horry, who wouldn't do %%#$ for much of the game but you knew when it got to "winning time" part of the game, they wouldn't let their teams lose. Kevin Love is like the extreme inverse. He'll score a lot of points and grab 18 boards and lose a record amount of games. He should just change his last or middle name to, "In a Losing Effort."

He has a great skillset and definitely plays the right way, and is probably a top 5 power forward, but there has to come a point where he starts winning games before he gets called the best in the game. We're not even talking about playoff wins here, just regular season wins. There's no reason that his team should not win 35+ games in a season if he really is the best at his position. Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Garnett, and even guys like Blake Griffin and Pao Gasol have used their talent to win games, not just put up stats. And it's not like Love has the worst players in the NBA on his team, he has some decent teammates that should help him win at least 35 games. Until he does that, I can't agree that he's the best power forward right now, especially not with Gasol, Randolph, Griffin, Aldridge, and Nowitzki playing at high levels. Team Fitness

Registered Member Posts: 1271 01/09/12 9:46 PM	K Love has played with nothing but pure bums his entire career up till now, players who would not even be benchwarmers on most teams: Randy Foye, Corey Brewer , Darko Milicic, Johny Flynn, Sebastian Telfair, not to mention playing in an offensive system that had no business being installed with said personnel. There are not many All-Star caliber players that can lift a team like that by himself (just ask Kobe, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tmac, KG, who interestingly played with a lot of the holdovers that K Love inherited). We know he ain't gonna be a Shaq or Duncan, but to place the blame of the team's failure on him is retarded

Putting teammates in a great position to hit an open 3 after an offensive rebound isn't making things easier for them? Throwing 94 foot outlet passes to streaking players isn't making the game easier for them? Just because a team isn't winning a lot of games doesn't mean the team's best player isn't getting the best out of his teammates. The team just isn't that good to win the games that you all are saying they should be winning. Who should that team beat on a regular basis? Be serious with the aspirations here.
