I'd be AWOL so fast the MOMENT I learn that they set me up for the okie-doke.

You stay on the boat you could not only live with yourself but live period..... Him staying on the boat wasnt going to solve or help anything. Them asking him to stay console them and do a head count and give us a running total of children and women wouldnt change the outcome... Basically the coast guard said hey go back and die, .... but before you do give us a count of women and children who are going to die for statistical purposes. And ppl say this is a dignified brave and honorable way to die... Explain to me whats honorable about that. And lets not forget he probably had friends and family etc... Im sure his family would be like oh so he was safe and alive... but he went back to a sinking ship so he could tell the coast guard how many women and kids are going to die.... Yea im pretty sure his family will be like well at least he died for a good cause.Btw I guess the coast guard said f the men. Who cares about how many of them are on. We dont need a count of how many of them die...

Yea im pretty sure his family will be like well at least he died for a good cause.Btw I guess the coast guard said f the men. Who cares about how many of them are on. We dont need a count of how many of them die...There were many people still stuck on the ship. For example, rescuers found a trapped Korean couple after most people had gotten off the ship. As the captain of the ship, it was his responsibility to get as many people as he could off the ship. Don't you think that some of the deaths and missing people could have been prevented if the captain had been more thorough? And again, this was HIS fault. It wasn't even some freak accident. It's not like his life was in jeopardy either; like others have mentioned, there were people waiting on the ship for HOURS after he abandoned the ship. I'd live every day of my life in guilt if people were dead because of me AND I didn't do all that I could to help as many people as possible.
