westcoastsfinest:23ska909red02:I will say this, and I'm sure only a very small handful of you will understand AND appreciate this: I completely appreciate how Kobe has played these past few games against LAC, DAL, MIA, and now ORL. I'm not saying I hated his stretch of 40s; not saying that at all. I appreciated it, actually. Sure, I could nitpick some shots here in there, but he's a volume shooter. But I love the way he has played these past 4 games, even though it looks like we're going to go 1-3. For the betterment of the team, he has to dial it back and let them suffer through this ###+%#%$ offense we run now, and for the most part, that's what he's doing. And it's definitely the right decision. You know Kobe though, Ska. He's trying to send a message to the front office that we need help. Which we do.

This will probably sound very %%#%-erotic, but there are random times during the day in which I think "hmmm, I wonder what Nazr Mohammed is doing RIGHT NOW"...

We've definitely improved our defense, but we struggle mightily scoring points consistently. But I do believe there's reasons to be hopeful....it's still early. The team will get better as time progresses and people become more comfortable in the offense. We still have the best front court in the league and that size will still be important, especially on defense. I firmly believe a lot of the early struggles can be attributed to the schedule. I think as Laker fans we've become spoiled through the years and expect moves to be made instantly to improve the team. I'd love for us to pick up the center from Orlando, but I just think there's too much hype surrounding that trade for it to actually happen.I feel you, and I agree.I hope you see where I am coming from as well... I honestly think we are 3 players away from a championship.. But at the same time it's frustrating watching a contender squander all that we have because of weakness (Pau), bad conditioning (Bynum), not giving a damn , and stupidity (Morris, Metta).. I do the trade scenarios more as boredom and an outlet for being pissed off at our underachiever status.. I just want a Point Guard, A person who can score on the second unit, and a backup 4 (and I think that would calm all my complaints about the current guys)It is frustrating also knowing if we got CP3 that we would be a completely different team, and be playing to our potential.I wonder if after the trade for CP3 failed if they tried to just do a deal with the Rockets.. If we would have gotten Martin & Scola and probably a bench player it would have been nice.

I do believe this team is better than what we've seen the past two nights. The good news it that Mitch sees the same things we do and he knows the team needs help. The real question is if he's waiting until the trade deadline to make a move. Maybe he thinks he can capitalize on somebody's desperation. Which I guess is understandable. You don't want to make the wrong move early before you panicked early in the season.
