If this small sampling is any indication of success of movie, this will do well. Definitely should open as number one. I felt it was a very good movie. Nothing great. Not the best biopic, but a great action film. It was very entertaining. Dialogue seemed to also be a little better for Lucas, as we know he struggles with dialogue a little. All in all, despite the bad reviews, I enjoyed the movie, and would purchase another ticket to see it again. BTW, Nate Parker (Easy) and Tristan Wilds (Ray Gun) will be stars. Great acting by both of them in this one. "Its been a long time since a flow like mine"

Registered Member Posts: 8673 01/21/12 10:57 PM	Just got back from seeing it myself. I was excited about it since i first heard about the project a year back, but it just wasnt that good to me. Theater was packed and everyone clapped at the end though. I hope it does well enough to continue the story and hopefully touch up on some of the problems i had with this one. The story was all over the place with no scope for time, and as people have already said, the characters were pretty one dimensional. Not that it had any effect on why i didn't like it but damn was Ne-Yo's accent annoying . I'm mad my dude Bryan Cranston was only in like 3 scenes, and every Terrance Howard scene had him making some thought provoking character uplifting speach. His role could have just been a lot more, just like the other characters. Also, i thought the 477th (the ones protecting the bombers on the Berlin misson) didnt see any combat in real life? They were only there to provide cover and turn around. I might need to brush up on my history but im pretty sure thats how it went. All in all this was more of a feel good movie than anything. Not to have a loser attitude but he should have known a movie about a group of "incapable, stupid, savages" overthrowing "powerful, great, intelligent" men would have gotten shut down. That movie would have every black person walking out fist pumping (Not Jersey Shore style). I was talking to an older dude about this last week, people aren't ready for that movie right there. Registered Member Posts: 1864 01/22/12 10:57 AM	So I went to see the movie. Was it the greatest movie ever? Hell no. However, it isn't nearly as bad as "reviewers" are trying to say it is. My only main issues were the somewhat corny writing here and there, and the lack of background on what the airmen had to go through to get from Tuskegee to Italy. But seriously I fear for the future of my culture. There are people on this board pissed off all the time about how "ignorant" Tyler Perry's movies are (personally I dont think they're ALL ignorant, but whatever), yet are saying "we" shouldn't support a movie about a important part in our history. If people don't support Red Tails it will be deemed a failure (in a financial aspect) by Hollywood, and chances of having another black film related to our history or a black film period that isn't a coonfest dwindles down even further. That's what y'all fail to realize. I feel like there's been this new mentality with black folk that because Obama's president and some of us can afford a 3 bedroom house in a white neighborhood we've "made it". Like somehow race is not an issue no more. If Red Tails had been put out in the 1970's on the big-screen every black person who could afford to, would've gone just for the sake of supporting a film about OUR history. This newfound passive mentality is going to set us back. If you haven't noticed they've already cut the vast majority of our T.V. shows. Apparently all we're good for now is ignorant %%% reality shows or "Meet The Browns" But aye, y'all don"t hear me tho.
