Which team will try to outbid the Wolves? I believe Taylor doesn't want to give him the full max because of what he went through with KG. He would rather spread that around with 2-3 guys (Rubio, Dwill, and Love).

He wont be taking less. If the Wolves keep their 4 year offer on the table and dont bump it to the 5 year max then he will become a restricted FA.

Now, this is the STUPIDEST thing the Wolves could let happen...

1) Because you are pissing off your best player and If you piss him off, you have your best player unhappy about being there....you dont want him to ever think about leaving or wanting to see if the "grass is greener."  He has paid his dues and performs like nobody else in the league. Your fans love him, the city loves him, why ruin that?

2) If they let him go or upset him enough that he does something wild like demand a trade or sign a 1 year offer to become a unrestricted FA next year, the Timberwolves organization will NEVER find someone to replace him.  No free agent in their right mind is going to come to Minnesota, especially with Love gone. With him gone, Rubio has zero chance of staying. The organization is doomed for another decade or more.

3) Say he goes to the restricted free agency.  Its 100% assured that a team out there (Boston, Dallas, Orlando, "Brooklyn", etc.) will offer him a max 5 year contract (the max they can offer) and the Wolves will surely match it (they cant doom the organization, can they?)  Even if a team doesn't really even have THAT much interest in Love (trust me, all of them would be more than willing to take him on), they are gonna offer him that 5 year just to put the squeeze on Minnesota to lock up the Wolves cap space. Another team will force their hand to sign him to that same 5 year deal that they are not willing to offer now. So you look like a jack-wagon giving your best player the run-around only to give him that same contract you wouldn't 6 months earlier.   


Now they could just be letting him go, I dont know why on this earth they would do that, but sure David Khan, have at it.

I honestly think the Wolves are going to budge and offer him the max 5 year deal at the 11th hour...I dont see them letting Love get away from the organization, he really holds the key to their future.

I really hope David Kahn doesn't f this up Love is a legit top-whatever PF. Pay the man. If he doesn't get a max contract in Minnesota, he will else where.
