Some people who didn't "grow up with the man" didn't have a chance to cop in '99, so now is there chance to finally get their hands on a pair of AJ history. I'm one of those people.. These are incredibly nice 4s, and both new heads and old heads are agreeing that these are a good release from what we can see. Now don't get me wrong, everyone has their own opinion, and yours is one that many people on this site will back up. Heck, i'd even agree with you on everything you just said. But come on. Lighten up a bit. For all you know, someone who is on here could be really looking forward to these, then read that the older heads are gonna see them in the streets and shake their heads then make a joke and laugh? Killin the excitement, making them feel stupid for liking a shoe. That's not what the game is about.. at least i didn't think it was. Feeding the beast? Nah. Let's face it, even if we stopped buying Jordans all together, it wouldn't do much. They'd probably lower the prices a bit, but the quality will never be as good as the good old days. Only way we're gonna get that again is in an extremely limited pack, and paying sky high prices. To sum up this whole block of text, you have your '99s and you're not coppin.. why are you posting in this thread? Just to hate and preach about the old days and make newer heads feel stupid? I owned the OGs - most thru 14 - but I was still growing and none fit me. I sold all of my OGs and 94 retros, and though I have come across some in my adult size, IV's aren't wearable for the most part. The 3's won't crumble on you like these will. So yeah, they aren't the OG or 99 version but I still plan on picking up two pairs. I can't be alone here.

Im glad you mentioned Mitchell and Ness. back in 1999-03, the jerseys looked historically accurate and were well worth the $300. now, the cuts are off and there are so many inaccuracies that it's not funny. I hear where you're coming from 3thaman. I grew up with Mike too (im 27 btw). I had the 1999 white cement 4s and they eventually cracked on me. I grew up in Chicago and watched damn near every Bulls game from the championship era and then some. I too would like everything to be made like it once was, but unfortunately that's not the case. You have to remember that these will be as close to perfect as we can get. We either take what they give us or leave it alone. We could choose not to feed the beast, but for every older collector that doesn't buy a release, 1,000 hypebeasts will buy because they either want to impress their friends with the new Jordans or see it as a money maker on the resell market. I will always love the 1999 white cement 4, but am past the stage of my life where I hold on to something that I have little possibility of wearing without cracking. And before you say $500-$700 can get you a wearable pair of 99s, I wouldn't do that while for the same price I can get a nice pair or Louis loafers or sneakers with much better quality than anything Jordan Brand could ever perceive of putting out. Also, since I get most of my Jordans on discount, I'm not much to complain. With these for $123 after tax, the quality is good enough in my eyes. Last Edited By: sthebest 01/26/12 2:28 AM.
