Depends on how you want to look at it. 

What would you say if I pointed out that Ron's best year, came with Kobe?  Or Ariza's best years, with him?  Pau, best years, with Kobe.  Odom's best years, LA, with Kobe.

You know what, Kwame.  His best years were when?    And damn it, take a good hard look at Smush Parker.  His best years, when? 


Nobody, and I do mean, NOBODY would ever come out and say Kobe makes others better ala a Steve Nash.  A guy goes to Phoenix, goes from 8 minutes a game to 27 minutes a game, and when his numbers obviously improve, they credit......Steve Nash. 

When it happens in LA, they don't say it about Kobe.  The selfish ballhog. 

No hate, no arguing, do you find that interesting at all?  Ever thought about that? 

I could make a case about Bynum, kid looks just like a 7 foot version of Kobe.  When he gets that ball, all he wants to do is score.  He works hard as hell on his game.  HARD AS HELL.  Where you think he learn that from?    Unfortunately, his legs have given out on him a few times, caused him to miss a lot of time, but he spent two years limping through the playoffs, sucking it up, doing what he could.  Where you think he learned that from? 

You can give credit to someone else if you want, but I am merely asking you some questions, maybe you disagree, maybe others do as well.  That's fine.  Won't be the first time I've said something and people think I'm crazy.  But it is worth at least a cursory second glance, is it not? 

  
*On the Ron topic, I don't mean best year stat wise, I mean actual play wise.  Anyone who ever spoke with me before knows how I felt about Ron, he was not a "winner" at all.  He killed most of the teams he played for.  Bulls, Kings, Rockets, and he certainly destroyed the Pacers.  He was a straight up nutjob.  But come to Kobe's house.  Do his job, not try to be Magic or Michael or Hakeem or whatever the hell he was doin on those other squads, but just doin his job, and he had the most success of his career.  The biggest plays of his life.  Playing off Kobe.  You heard the story.  After 08, he came in and said he wanted to play in LA, help Kobe win it all. A year later, he did. 

I've yet to see anyone walk in and tell Steve Nash they want to go in and help him win it all.  And he's this all great and powerful teammate guy. 

Funny, isn't it?
