So I been on NT for years now, as have alot of you. I still waste way too much time on here when I can be doing more productive things. (take right now for instance), but while I'm wasting time, I still get annoyed at some of the common etiquette mistakes and bad habits that new members continue to make. I just think as NT keeps getting bigger, we're getting flooded with more of the same stuff, so I figured I'd list some general rules of etiquette not listed in the regular NT rules. (some of it might be there, I'm just putting it here too. I didn't read through it all. !@#$ off I been on here too long.) Any other vets, feel free to add to the list.
1. Do NOT just make useless posts to bump your post count. This is listed as a rule, but I don't think it's emphasized enough. If you joined NT to get your resell on, I respect your grind, but NT is not JUST about reselling and when you make posts like "Nice." in the pickup or WDYWT thread without referring to what's "Nice" and you do it over and over, it's obvious your just posting for the sake of posting. Some dude last week posted "Gary Payton" in the Zoom GP thread and I wanted to Kufi Smack son. If you're really just here to sell, and you're really just posting to get to 300 so you CAN sell, try not to make it so cot-damn obvious. Also, when you reply with something kind of pointless like "Those are fire, gotta cop those!" and you do it for like 10 posts in a row, including 4 or 5 posts that you grave-dug up from 6 months ago it makes it extremely obvious what you're doing.
2. PIC QUOTES. Alot of people mess up the no pic quote rule in the WDYWT thread and that's gonna happen once in a while. No big deal, somebody will call you out and you'll probably chill. This isn't about that, this is just general pic-quoting etiquette in every thread. There's no need to pic quote a post with like 8 pics in it of the same shoe just to say "SICK!" when you're the NEXT POST DOWN. A simple "^^^SICK!!" will do. We'll understand that you're referring to the post above that had 8 pics of the same pair of kicks. Also, if a huge post has already been quoted on the same page, you don't need to quote it AGAIN to refer to whatever.
3. READ A LITTLE. Dudes are constantly asking stuff like "How do these run" or "Are these out yet anywhere?" etc... when the answer is like 3 posts above theirs, so they didn't bother to read ANY of the thread, they just saw the thread title and posted the question. If your post count is anywhere below 300 I assume you're just bumping your post count. If you're above 300 you're too lazy to look at the page you're on. I'm not talking about a thread with like 100 pages where the sizing is referenced on page 22 and you didn't read all 100 pages first I'm talking about a post 1 or 2 pages deep and the answer is right above you. Never used to see that, and I see it all the time now.
That's all I've got for now. Add if you want to add, hate if you want to hate. These aren't rules or anything, just suggestions. /end rant
