John Mayer - Comfortable

Is this more along the lines of his Trio stuff, or his "Your Body Is A Wonderland" stuff?

Due to the latter, I've had a tendency to write Mayer off, but I keep getting told that I'm in the wrong for doing so.

Yeah it's kind of a softy song because it's from the beginning of his career, but it's not all up beat like "Your Body is a Wonderland". It's straight acoustic guitar, not sure if you'll like it, but you might.

I've played this song a few times, but after while it became a little too soft for me. Not the same "tempo" as YBIAWL but its still too mushy forme. In comparison to something like City Love which sounds a little less *****y.

lol this song is meh....the lyrics are a joke, but mayer has mastered the art of chord progressions to a point where it all sounds good. hell, i'll stilllisten to it even though the lyrics are goofy.

Yeah, you'd be in the wrong. His career has progressed towards a more blues, electric sound which is what you're probably looking for. Ihate listening to his live albums though 'cause of the shrieking girls. I really want to go to one of his concerts but I feel like I wouldn't enjoy itfor that reason.

just in two years, i have noticed a huge change in his crowd...it's gone from teen girls to a crowd of mostly mid twenty somethings with abunch of people there to hear him shred the guitar...just look at his setlists from this tour he is a different John Mayer...

Please don't judge Johnny by how he came in the game. (Although "No Such Thing" is a great song)

All *******t aside, I think he's a phenomenal song writer, and Comfortable is proof of that.

"Life of the party, and she's swears that she's artsy, but you could distinguish, Miles from Coletrain."

I would urge you to listen to "Inside Wants Out." I'm sure after that, you'll feel differently. I think John agrees with your assessment (andmany others) about "Your Body Is A Wonderland," in fact, he doesn't play that song live. Please also check for his "Trio" album. Andespecially "Another Kind of Green" - which imo, is one of his best songs, again showcasing his song-writing skills. We haven't even discussedwhat this man does to his guitar when playing live.
