Due to the latter, I've had a tendency to write Mayer off, but I keep getting told that I'm in the wrong for doing so.
Yeah, you'd be in the wrong. His career has progressed towards a more blues, electric sound which is what you're probably looking for. Ihate listening to his live albums though 'cause of the shrieking girls. I really want to go to one of his concerts but I feel like I wouldn't enjoy itfor that reason.Originally Posted by mace40

just in two years, i have noticed a huge change in his crowd...it's gone from teen girls to a crowd of mostly mid twenty somethings with abunch of people there to hear him shred the guitar...just look at his setlists from this tour he is a different John Mayer...Originally Posted by gko2408

Please don't judge Johnny by how he came in the game. (Although "No Such Thing" is a great song)
All *******t aside, I think he's a phenomenal song writer, and Comfortable is proof of that.
"Life of the party, and she's swears that she's artsy, but you could distinguish, Miles from Coletrain."
I would urge you to listen to "Inside Wants Out." I'm sure after that, you'll feel differently. I think John agrees with your assessment (and many others) about "Your Body Is A Wonderland," in fact, he doesn't play that song live. Please also check for his "Trio" album. And especially "Another Kind of Green" - which imo, is one of his best songs, again showcasing his song-writing skills. We haven't even discussed what this man does to his guitar when playing live.
Check for these records:
"Quiet"
"Another Kind of Green"
"Kid A" radiohead cover ()
"St. Patrick's Day" (Myspace Live Edition)
"Neon" any live version
"Covered In Rain" As/Is version
"Back To You" acoustic
"Come Back To Bed"
And please check for the "Inside Wants Out" album...
And he's a sneaker head.
Here's some of his new stuff:
"Life of the party, and she's swears that she's artsy, but you could distinguish Miles from Coltrane."
I LOVE that line. Seriously, it's probably the reason I've listened to the song so much.
...andat him having a full sleeve on his left arm now. I knew he liked tats, but I just never saw him getting a full sleeve.
- Tical.
