The College Basketball Post

Still kinda :rolleyes about the Kennard decision, that's what I get for thinking somebody is a lock..Less than 2 hours from campus, dude was practically an in state recruit ....

He was more so a lock for Duke. I didn't even watch it, comment on it or anything because it was a given.

yeah, early on I thought he was a UK lock then after he took one official to Duke then decided to announce I knew what was up.UK's 1/2 for 2015 offers so far, can't be too mad this early..

I don't want Embiid to stay but I can't lie I would LOVE to see him and Alexander together abusing teams with Oubre on the wing.
Would be awesome to see...already falling in love with Oubre's lefty stroke. But don't get your hopes up.
If Embiid were to stay for a few more years Self and the extra action would do wonders to his game. He probably won't do any of that and will just go to the league

Yeahhhh...as said above, don't get your hopes up.
So, Marcus Paige is returning.

UNC looking really nice next year if JMM returns....

/\ crap like that is everything wrong with the sport right now.

Baby Lebron nickname...being all over the internet for a dunk. Now if that kid doesn't end up being Lebron everyone's going to be in the College Basketball Post in 2021 nitpicking him during every game he doesn't score 52 points in and saying he's overhyped.

And I just read that kid is 13 years old

He's 13 and in 6th grade?

That's going to cause him some problems.
"Just Felt It": Kennard Talks Duke
FRANKLIN, Ohio  – Duke may have suffered a devastating upset loss in the NCAA Tournament Friday but Mike Krzyzewski  and the Blue Devils bounced back with a big win on the recruiting trail Monday.

Franklin (Ohio) 5-star junior guard Luke Kennard  gave Duke his verbal commitment during a ceremony at his high school Monday evening, picking the Blue Devils over Kentucky, Ohio State, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina and Florida.

The 6-foot-5 guard, who is ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect and second-ranked shooting guard according to the 247Sports Composite, averaged 40 points, 10 rebounds and four assists per game en route to being named Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year and Ohio Mr. Basketball by the Associated Press.

Although he went on a number of unofficial visits to various schools, Kennard made his only official visit to Durham Mar. 8 to watch the Blue Devils exact revenge on archrival North Carolina.

It was that visit, Kennard said, that put Duke over the top.

"When I went down there on my official visit I kind of just felt it," Kennard said following his announcement. "I felt it in my heart and I had a peace about my decision. Being around Coach K and the players I could see that it was a special place. Duke is a big-time stage with a small town atmosphere."

The Duke staff made Kennard a top recruiting priority, dispatching coaches to watch him on a number of occasions this season and it paid off in the form of the Blue Devils' first 2015 commitment. Krzyzewski and assistant Steve Wojociechowski even flew into Franklin Monday to receive the good news in person.

Kennard said Duke is a great fit both athletically and academically.

"The offensive system is a great fit for me. Coach K sees me playing multiple positions," Kennard said. "[Academics] played a big part. I'll get a good education and that means a lot to me."

Kennard's Crystal Ball  was 69 percent in favor of Duke.

Kennard plays against absolutely terrible HS comp. I think he's D3 in Ohio. He blew up on the circuit though so I guess he's been tested against top level guys already. Still feel like the 5 star ranking is a little lofty.

Semi considering a transfer.

Wouldn't put it past him or Matt Jones to transfer, even with Hairston, Tyler, and Dre leaving.

I don't know why K stocks up on so many guards/wings every year. Pretty sure we're averaging a transfer a year dating back to the Boateng and Boykin days. Hell, even my boy Mike Thompson transferred back in '04.

I don't get why you stock up on guards and then play Quinn Cook and Tyler Thornton.

Only chance Semi leaves is if we land Turner and that isn't happening. He knew he wasn't ready to contribute this season.

My ideal scenario is Sheed balls out next year and goes to the league. Semi is gonna get minutes backing up Amile next season.

Need Matt Jones to find his shot that he had in hs cause hitting 3 threes the entire year is some ****

Not to get too deep with it, but I think it more a societal problem than a basketball problem. Its the 24/7 news cycle and the fact that anything that ever happens gets filmed and put on the Internet. I feel bad for the kid that now the world is going to know about him and be following his career. No 13 year old needs that kind of attention.

He does look like he has some serious potential though. His handle and coordination is pretty impressive for someone that big at that age.

Whaaaaaaaaat? Are those really his total threes hit? :x

Tyus, Quinn, Sheed, Jones, Grayson and Winslow at the guard spots or can Winslow slide over and play the 3 as well?

I understand kids want to play and I don't blame them.

But IMO more kids need to understand that they need to patient as well...Semi goes to Duke for one year, now considering transferring...be patient man. He will get his run for one of the top college basketball programs in the country if he works hard and sticks around.

I agree. A lot of these dudes don't understand that Duke is a system that actually isn't hard to find playing time within and it starts with defense. If you can bring energy on that side of the ball and then give a little something on offense to keep it fluid, you'll get into the rotation.

All that other @#$% falls into place.

His final number was something like 3-25

Justise is a 3 all the way. If K goes with the senior bs then the lineup looks tyus-Quinn-sheed-Amile-jah

If he's smart sheed shifts to the 2, justise to the 3 and Quinn to the bench.

remember a couple kids in my middle school dunking. we would call the big guy who was 6' baby shaq
dude ended up going with football

Funny how hindsight works.

People in here were swearing Marcus was going after this year, now saying he had no chance of leaving.

Like I said at the time, 6'2 combo guards don't go in the first round.

Might as well stay and enjoy the BMOC life, un guaranteed contract can wait.
