The College Basketball Post

The whole duke and players are busts is lame...people need to realize not every player is going to be superstar...has the USA job helped? I'm sure it did a little but to say he wouldn't have gotten top recruits without the gig is way off base...i think if anything he's more open to 1 and done players now than before...he adapted to the times

Honestly, most players going into the NBA are going to end up not living up their potential. Kentucky puts the most players in the league, and most of them aren't living up to their hype.

The exposure of Coach K coaching the USA team is great. It's def helped Boeheim but has helped Coach Hopkins even more as he's the primary recruiters. Anytime you're around the best players in the game on a global level will help you, and you're an idiot if you don't use it to your advantage.

I love this spin, so for like 8 years Coach was like nah I don't want one and don players, the one day the great Coach K decides one and done players are morally acceptable and then boom Kyrie, Jabari, Jahill.

I bet when he walked in for those visits im sure he said to Jabari im going to make you the next Christian lattener. :pimp:

you don't remeeber this?

"[We're going to] mirror some of the things we've done on the Olympic team," Krzyzewski promised. Krzyzewski plans to apply what he learned from coaching LeBron James to how he can coach Parker. Parker is listed as a small forward, but the Duke freshman-to-be is too versatile to be defined by one position.

You don't think that was the pitch to Jabari, or you think he went with the Lattener pitch?

Your mans said it not me. :nerd:

It probably was his pitch... So what.

We don't care that it's his pitch. It's that the fan boys and K are denying that it hasn't helped land the sure fire lotto pick talent that he's landed. He could've landed fringe guys like Dawkins, Jefferson, Sulaimon, etc., regardlessly. That's his bread and butter. He was whiffing miserably around 06,07 on those guys. I remember Kevin Love turning him down, and that 2006 class he walked away with Scheyer and Zoubek as the crown jewels?

06-07 was rough.

But to be honest I think he really stop going hard at 1 and dones after Shawn Livingston's situation, he legitimately changed who he was targeting which pissed a lot of the fanbase off.

Landing was the Kyrie turned around the look of the program that's for sure and running with USA definitely has given the program life at the same time, I won't front that off, I was legitimately just ******* around.

To be honest, I will say that USA team saved his coaching career, it gave him life again.

I don't have a problem with Coach K doing it, I don't care.

I think it's funny that people don't want to admit that Coach K is hustling like Coach Cal is hustling.

Man, from about 06 to Kyrie was rough for y'all in this thread.

 I enjoyed those days.

 Let's go back to then.

Genuinely interested in seeing who the next coach is post K, but I guess we have a ways to go for that. He was genius to lock up 2016 again.

Even during that span we won a chip... I tell boys all the time that cbb is lucky Kyrie went down with a toe injury because we would've went back to back |I

Sad we didn't get more Kyrie @ Duke.

He was killing whenever he was healthy, he could've been such a villain.

I was happy and mad at the same time when West Virginia beat UK

I probably would of said duke could of went back to back but for whatever reason Nolan Smith did not play well with Kyrie on the court

He wasn't bad, just couldn't dominate the ball as much so instead of 22-26 points he was getting 16... But Kyle and Mason (especially Mason) were FEASTING off Kyrie... We would've WORKED. :smh: |I

What he did to Pullen during the preseason... :x :smh: Kid didn't recover until Big 12 tourney time

Anyone have any insight or guesses where PJ Dozier ends up? Michigan is one of his top 5 but I don't know much about his recruitment because Michigan focused on other guys for so long.

Random, but I've watched Pj dozier grow up from like 6th grade via YouTube into a top recruit. Same with Allonzo Trier, Khalil Dukes and Jashaun Agosto.

It's pretty cool to see a 5ft something kid with good coaching, turn into a 6'6 wing over a course of years and it's all documented on YouTube.

Think it was KD handlers on why that package never worked out

Forgot how it all went down...think somebody in his camp or him got rubbed the wrong way

Is he related to Robert Dozier?

Never really got the full scoop but Steve Smith from Oak Hill had a lot to do with it.
