The College Basketball Post

Haha I can't remember what team that guy is on, but I've seen him play and he's actually not too bad...

I think tomorrow's games will be better, but today looks solid. Zona/OSU should be fun.

Go Cincy. Go Butler.

Excited for D'Angelo Russell vs. U of A. That is going to be fun.

Arkansas/UNC will be a track meet.

I think the better 2nd round games are on Sunday though.

MW - 7/8...lost Cincy/Purdue

East - 8/8

West - 6/8...lost X/Ole Miss and Baylor/Ga State

South - 3/8

 ...lost Utah/SFA, EW/GTown, SMU/UCLA, Ia State/UAB, Iowa/Davidson

24/32 overall. All my F4 is alive, E8 is missing one (SMU)

midwest: 7/8. Thought purdue could get the win and then eventually challenge kentucky

west: 7/8. VCU

. My school. Shaka should've called a timeout at the end of the game but didn't

east: 7/8. Figured Louisville could lay an egg to uc irvine.

South: 6/8. Georgetown actually showed up to the tournament

, while davidson gets washed by 30.

I like not calling the time out. VCU is the type of team that can make something happen without drawing anything up and they got a pretty decent look.

Good 4 year player. A little raw/inconsistent and a bit of an assclown but he wants to make the big play and isn't afraid. Should be a fine player.

Dip**** Lavin not pressing sealed the deal for me. Down 10 with 14 minutes left against a point guard that can't beat a press and you're not doing any trapping to make his life miserable? We run the most pathetic offense in college. There is barely any movement and time and time again guys like Dom, Jordan and Harrison bail Lavin out by making tough shots. We literally got 0 easy shots tonight. Not because the Aztecs play great d but because we didn't run **** on offense.

Give me Bobby Hurley gotdamnit

that "offense" you speak of has been only slightly better than Norm Robert's offense which was LITERALLY the worst I've ever seen in Basketball history

Norm ran better plays than the garbage you saw last night. Norm actually ran stuff in comparison to Lavin literally running nothing.

Trust me, we ran a lot of what Kansas runs it just never worked well because of the players and lack of shooting till Dwight Hardy got there.

St. John's need a coach who is MUCH better at X's and O's. Lavin ain't it. He's a good guy, but this squad will forever be an afterthought unless the administration ponies up the cash to get in someone who can get the team to the next level.

Agreed JJs. I think we can actually catch a break grabbing Bobby Hurley in the offseason. He won't cost that much money, and the upside is there with him. He'll recruit the hell out of the trip state area plus nationally and he can coach well.

We had 0 easy shots last night. Lavin does a disservice to his players by forcing them to create something out of nothing consistently.

Hurley makes TOO much sense.

1. He can coach.

2. STRONG ties to the tri-state, like you mentioned. And for a school who has a hard time recruiting in this area, this would be a major coup.

3, He gets REALLY fired up. That's something which has been lacking from the sidelines over the past 10 years or so.

The school has PLENTY of money to make whatever hires they want....Hurley won't break the bank, and he'd be an immediate upgrade over Lavin. We have too rich of a tradition to be this pathetic. Something has to give.

Agreed bud. This administration is full of bozos so who knows what they'll do.

Hope Hurley doesn't ruin his career at St. John's
:frown:

But is Bobby better than Danny? Danny coached at St Bens for 10 years, turned around two programs and did so with the second in the A10.

I don't think you can go wrong with either but just asking.

And is Lavin leaving for some West coast job before he's canned? Has to see the writing on the wall with nothing coming back to that roster next year.

I'd be happy with either Hurley, TBH. ****, I'd even take Bob Hurley, Sr.

I think it's either back to ESPN or taking another WC job for Lavin. It's going to be a complete rebuild and there isn't a chance in hell that Obekpa is coming back. This is why I think the administration needs to act quickly. What recruit is going to listen to Lavin's recruiting pitch if there is no guarantee that he'll be back after next year at the latest?

I'll take either Hurley. Just figured Bobby since he might be a little more ready? Idk, I'll take either.

Lav supposedly was upset he didn't get the USC job.
