The College Basketball Post

If he gets drafted in the first round, it will be a W for Thon.

Given the quality of this draft, that could happen.

it's a risk, but it's not without reward.

If Skal can be a lottery pick in this draft, I'm sure someone at the end of the first will be willing to take a chance on Thon...

7 footers that can actually walk without tripping over their own feet don't grow on trees.

Ones with any kind of discernible skillset? Only the rarest of soils can make those........

Everyone is down on Skal

but Skal obliterated Thon at the hoop summit, he was was way better going against him in the practices and was a million times better in the game.

I hope the team that drafts both of them own a d-league franchise.

I'm not saying I would pick Thon over Skal whatsoever. Skal is definitely a better player. Some team with a D-league affiliate, like you mentioned, will surely take a chance on Thon though. End of first round would not be surprising.

Thon will be good in the NBA. Maybe not right away but he will be solid. His skillset for body is valuable on any NBA team.

what is his skillset?
The simple fact that he can score off the dribble and shoot jumpshots from long range at 7 feet tall makes him valuable. If he would go to college for a year he'd be a top 5 pick probably. Will he be a superstar? Who knows but teams would definitely value his versatility nonetheless.

I don't really understand how he is eligible for the NBA though. Can someone enlighten me?

I've now decided to root for Nova tonight solely because of Jay Wright

If they win my town will be lit, lots of Nova alum in it

let me ask you something are you going off actual live game watching or you going off YT highlights?

Posted this in the draft thread...but there is a draft loophole that 19 year old 5th year seniors should take advantage of.

Santnam Singh did it last year from IMG academy....and he's technically the last player to be drafted out of HS. Mavs drafted him 52nd overall from IMG. Johnathan Issac could and should try it as well.

i mean technically if you postgrad that is a year removed right?

He can't actually do either of those things really, not at a level that would work in college or the NBA.

He's totally overrated as a shooter he's decent out to 18 feet maybe but shot flattens at the college 3. Long way off from being able to hit NBA 3's. And his ball handling skills is stuff that works in HS not at college or the pros. Small hands poor feel make him walking tunrocer shen he starts playing with the ball.

His best trait is his competitiveness and being a hard worker but an NBA team is going to have to improve his body, skill level and feel for the game.
