do any of you guys run that mackeeper application and is it worth to have? I keep seeing it because I want to download candybar but it says I should have that mac keeper app. Just want some insight on it.

Also what kind of cases you guys got? I want to get one for my mbp 13 inch to keep protected.

Anyone having problems with their mail server? For some reason it won't let me send mail out? It says "cannot send message using the server." I'm synced up with my gmail account. It receives mail just fine but won't send out. Its not a big deal just really annoying....Gmail works fine on chrome though

how does the clear one fit? Is it a kind of snap on and you think could message me a picture of the case on your macbook so I can see what it really looks like.

Do I have to buy candybar or can I download it for free? I'm scared to download anything on my macbook cause I don't want to mess it up and I've only had it for week now.

iMovie...Life '11 ftw
The most easiest application I've used.

So have they cleaned up all the glitches on Lion? Was wondering if i should just wait for the next updated version...?

Hey NT,

I'm about to cop an 11" MacBook Air. Still debating whether or not to get that optional i7 upgrade from the current i5 + 128GB SSD + 4GB RAM model.

So here's my question: Is the price difference worth it? I'm basically just using it for the basic web browsing, occasional media playback and a little heavy Photoshop editing. Occasionally doing all three (and some other random task) at once.

I'm not looking to play any games on it (got the PS3 for that), nor do I plan to run Windows OS on it (I give up).

I'm currently typing on my mom's 2010-spec, entry-level MBA, and I found it a bit slow at times. Even just editing photos in iPhoto. *facepalm*

Would the i5 suffice? Or should I go for the i7? And does the i7 significantly lower the battery life on average? Any ideas/personal experience?

Thanks.

sounds like you should get a 13"mbp cheaper option for better processor and ram and video card. im no expert though.

i'm not sure about geeksquad, but I know apple care is worth it for just the free battery replacement alone.  the batteries themselves run ~$70, and I always figure the few extra bucks for insurance are always worth it, consider all your work is based around this one machine

just buy the apple care off ebay after your first year warranty wears off

Not sure if you mean geeksquad or bestbuy product replacement plan that they try to sell with just about everything.
If you use your BBPR you can get a new one for just about any reason, accident or whatever including spills, no questions asked, which apple care does not cover. but lets say you get a new one, you would have to repurchase the Protection Plan from best buy. I think it lasts 1-2 years for around 250-300 dollars, but i could be wrong.
I would recommend it if you tend to be clumsy.

The apple care is also very worth it, but doesn't cover accidents and stuff like that. Alot more strict
they will almost always repair on the spot(with appointment) its 3 years from purchase date. You will always have your computer if your one of those people like me that wants "his" computer and not a new replacement lol.

I purchased the apple care for my 2011 15"mbp because i take care of my stuff, but expect wear and tear to occur and TRUST apple with their repairs more. Plus i always read and saw how NTers always vouched for apple care saving them or whatever.

As far as which computer you should get, Id recommend the 15" mbp over the 21" imac. You have one of the finest pieces of hardware out there, and its portable so you can take it wherever you want in the house and not be tied down to one place.

thing weighs like a ton compared to the Air. I need the mobility. Don't think I'd need the built-in superdrive, either.

And yeah, AppleCare is awesome. My friend's white MacBook got replaced by an entirely new unit once his old MB died (not his fault).

ram is the memory your computer uses to run its programs, like photoshop and firefox up and running at the same time, thats why you can run more at once when you have larger ram
hard drives is the storage memory of your computer, where you store your files and install your apps.
processor is i guess like the horsepower if you want to put it that way. i dont know much about processors but the better the processor, the quicker it gets the job done, disregarding RAM in this case.
