Also, how are the rechargeable batteries for the magic mouse by apple?
ram is the memory your computer uses to run its programs, like photoshop and firefox up and running at the same time, thats why you can run more at once when you have larger ram
hard drives is the storage memory of your computer, where you store your files and install your apps.
processor is i guess like the horsepower if you want to put it that way. i dont know much about processors but the better the processor, the quicker it gets the job done, disregarding RAM in this case.
Thanks, that cleared it up for me.

Sooooooooooo how are the rechargeable batteries for the magic mouse ? Are they worth it?

Need help with my macbook pro. When I turn it on it stops at the loading screen with the apple and the ring and doesn't go any further.
I tried the " command S " and one of the lines reads " disk0s2: I/O error. ". I also tried to reboot from the CD that came with the computer and now the CD won't eject.
I looked online and it says it has to do with the hard drive. So I have two questions:

1. How hard is it to remove and put in another hard drive ?
2. How do I get the CD out when the eject button doesn't work ?

I have an appointment at Apple tomorrow to see what the problem is. Would they be able to at least get the CD out ?

Just got my MBP yesterday and finally joining the other side.

Would you guys recommend buying the Adobe Creative Suite Master Edition for it?

The student discount they have for it drops it to $449 which is 80% off from the commercial price of $1899.

Discount ends this Thursday so I gotta make moves quick.

It can be had for much cheaper than that, but if you feel like you'd get $449 of use out of the suite, by all means go for it.

Hold down option while you power up the computer and the CD should eject. might have to do it a few times. Swapping out hard drives is extremely simple. all you need are a #0 Phillips and maybe a Torx #8. Shouldnt take more than 5 minutes to get the old one out and put a new one in. Sounds to me like there is just a loose connector though

You can replace the harddrive yourself...If you have Apple Care, let them do it...

First open Disk Utility and try to eject it from there, if that does not work, Reboot the machine holding down the mouse button till it ejects.

For the avi to DVD concerter....Handbrake or Roxio Toast

Adobe Creative Suite is cool if you're a hardcore multimedia designer...I personally uses GIMP and Final Cut. But I do have CS5.

I am planning of buying a 13" Mac Pro by the end of the year..Is now a good time to invest in one or should I wait until they unveil the new models. When does apple usually do this btw?

What are u planning on using your Mac for? I would take a serious look at the new 13" MacBook Air.

My macbook screen won't light up anymore, I heard the sound at the start and the eject sound but the screen doesn't light. I can see that its working if I hold a flashlight or something to the screen. Did something come loose? Am I able to fix it on my own? I don't have apple care being that its the older macbook 2,1 (white glossy finish)

i would definately go with the new Macbook Air. They just released new models not too long ago. Cant go wrong with the new processors and Thunderbolt connections. This is where Apple is headed as far as design. They are pretty powerful machines as well.
