The Official Mac Thread (Docs, Themes, Apps, Etc.)

Decided to go with the 15" MBP. Grabbed it today, it's going to take a while to get used.

Also got a 100 dollar app store gift card. Only thing I need is MS Office and I'm getting that for free from work. Anything else you guys think I should grab?
I'm using it mainly for school.

what are some better apps out there that i can drag things into a folder on my imac and then open some according app on my 4s and save those files?

Any recommendations as far as were to get a replacement internal hard drive. Been getting the message "startup disk full" so I no I'm completely out of space on my 13.3 inch macbook. Been looking online but its all a bit foreign. Are there any brands/sites you guys recommend?
 
Just about had it with my outdated '05 Dell Desktop. Going to pick up either a Macbook Pro or IMac. We'll see how my experience away from PC's go.

already have a 2 tb FireWire external and 1 tb USB 2.0...can't really justify it.

anyone have the 15 inch retina?

currently have the 13 mbp late 2011 model with 8 gig ram and 750 7200 rpm hard drive. how much do u think i could sell the 13 mbp for?

is 1800 a good deal for 8 gig ram 256ssd 15 inch retina?

Yeah that's the one I think I'm going to grab in a week or so. I see that they have a Thunderbolt one too, I wonder if they just sell a TB adapter.
My PC is the one with all of my stuff on it, and it doesn't have Thunderbolt

HDDs are stupid in price now. Before the flood, Samsung was my go to manufactor, but I hear the ones they ship now aren't even Samsung drives.
I feel like companies are trying to phase out HDDs completely and make way for SSDs, they're dropping in price a lot in the last few months. But still the price per gig is kinda high.

If I had to pick a HDD now I'd go with Western Digital. And the site I buy all my computer hardware is newegg, or amazon. Laptops are 2.5 sized HDDs.
 
itunes question: for some reason itunes has my illmatic album split where 9 of the songs are shown to be on one album and then one song is just separate for no reason. how to fix?

When that happens I usually just click info on that one songs and match all the information with the rest of the album
 
Yo how do y'all clean your track pad? Especially when it accumulates oil from your fingers? I used a magic eraser and it seemed like it work but IDK
 
Last Sunday was my wife’s and I wedding anniversary. I bought her an Ipad  as a gift. I wasn't expecting it but she bought me a MBP Retina 15'. I'm super pumped!

I have a PC laptop from 2006. How do I transfer the music in my itunes into my new MBP?

This is my preferred hard drive if you are on a budget. It's got good storage, not a bad price (IMO) and since it's an SSD/HD hybrid, it has the benefits
of larger storage, and also faster than most hard drives.

Agghhhh, Macbook can't find my Galaxy S2 when I connect it through USB. Anyone know an app that I can find in the App Store(so I can use my apple giftcard) that can help me transfer files?
 
Question, i have an ancient 2007 13 in MB.  Battery is completely dead, always gotta be on the charger.  While on the charger, the fan goes at least 6000 rpm the entire time im on it.

If i replace the battery, will the fan go back to normal?
