anybody know how to create rar files? im tryna put this file on my external but its bigger than 4 gigs....

can i hook up an xbox 360 to my retina macbook?

Nope, it's video output only.

What program are you guys using to pull all of your media (Music especially) off of your iphones and onto new computers?

For music, you can use Senuti. For photos and videos, you can use iPhoto, or Image Capture.

When playing YouTube videos in HD, after a couple videos, it starts to seriously lag and play frame by frame. When I press pause, the video will keep playing for a few more seconds without sound. Would upgrading the RAM solve this problem?

On a 2010 MBP 2.66 GHz i7 on 4GB RAM. :nerd:

I don't think it's your RAM. Maybe it's your internet speed?

You might need to make the file into two rar files and copy it to your external drive that way. Winrar might work with that.

My internet speed is actually really good. I can watch a few videos, full-screen, no problem and then it seems as if my MBP starts to wear out and watching videos not even in HD gets weird.

I want to believe it's related to hardware because my fan gets real fast and loud when the video gets sketchy.

I have a dead PC with some pictures and videos that I'd like to transfer to my mac...what's the best/least expensive way to do this?

If it doesnt power on at all, they will take out the hard drive, swap it in another PC and place it on an external hard drive...I had to do that with my dead PC when I bought my MBP in 2010

Your graphics card is probably broken or something like that.

Half the videos on nt aren't appearing for me on safari...I consider myself pretty tech savvy but I can't figure out what's going on. Any advice?

just got a new 13" mcp, school me on things i most have. or at least microsoft office. anyone? thanks

Anyone update to mountain lion from snow leopard. I'm still running snow leopard and i've been thinking of upgrading to ML. Any negatives to it, i was gonna upgrade to Lion back when it released but heard negative things about it. I've also heard MS Office 2008 is spotty with ML. Read people having issues with it yet some haven't, what gives? Thanks.

It hasn't happened recently but within my first week of owning the MBP. I've had 3 kernel panics, and they have all been completely random

Anyone own a 2012 MB Air? I was going to get a 128GB one, to replace my Alienware M11x. After a lot of research I've came to the conclusion that the MBP 13.5" and MB Air 11" are so similar in performance that it really came down to function. The only concern I have is HDD memory, would I be best off getting a 64GB and just buying an external HD?

Thanks!

Try reinstalling your flash player?

Also, if anyone has converted from windows 7 to mac (like me, even though I still run windows 7 through bootcamp on an extra partition at times to run some games), better snap tool (in the mac app store $1.99) gives you those windows snap window features :pimp:

I had clinch, but I hated how everytime I started my mbp I asked me to donate or buy the full version.

Scratch that, had two yesterday and one more this morning. No idea where to even start troubleshooting.

Stick with Snow Leopard. I wish I never upgraded to Lion and now ML since my battery life on my MBP took a big hit. I installed a brand new battery since my old one had almost 1000 cycles. My battery on ML never lasts more than a couple hours. :smh: @ Apple. A lot of people are having this problem right now.

Thats the problem I'm having... There was an update though. You think it'll fix the battery issue? I haven't updated yet

I upgraded to 10.8.1 for the "supposed battery fix" and I swear my battery life got worse. The battery percentage drops a few % when I'm gone for a few minutes. >: Apple
