The Official Mac Thread (Docs, Themes, Apps, Etc.)

it says you're trying to install an update to the software(office)

you need to install the software (office) first before you can update it.
I used the link posted above to try to install the software but the update is what came up. How do I get the software?

Just copped a 2010 15" i5 Macbook Pro.  Glitches here and there but pleased with the speed so far.  Getting used to OSX, but im still gonna throw a windows install on here also.

NT bros, I have to say that Apple customer service is on point. Last year 9/2012 I bought a 2012 MBA, the SSD went out earlier this month. Apple said the SSD's were on backorder w/ no ETA. So after talking on the phone for 2 hours, they agreed to send me a new laptop. :smokin They even upgraded the processor from the 1.3 Ghz to 1.7Ghz one for free. Oh and they gave me the 2013 MBA, which has a 9-12 hr battery life compared to the 2012 which only had 6 hrs.

So you keep both? If so time to buy a new SSD and have 2 MBA or throw one on the bay.

Recently purchased a Mid 2013 13" MBA...could someone please help me out with a PS link. PM me if anything, thanks in advance!

Those with the new 13' MBA, battery life legitimately at ~12 hours?? I'm looking to upgrade my 09 MBP to it and wondering if its worth it or if I should wait for the next MBP refresh.

MBP are due for a refresh. The new OSX Maverick is supposed to release soon too. I'm assuming that they will release alongside each other, so my vote is to wait.

does apple charge to install the replacement batteries into the macbook pros or is that included in the 129 you pay for it?

For those with Candybar, do you use your own icons that you made? I've tried it and theyre all super small and hard to see. Any suggestions?

Late reply, but it's included.  They actually won't let you buy the battery and walk out of the store with it, you have to let them install it...

Just got a new Macbook Pro. Where can I go for Microsoft Office? Really don't want to pay $150.

Should I download from Pirate Bay?

You go to college? Most universities offer that stuff for free.

I got the entire Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office for free.

What size are you making the icons?
The dimensions are 79X89
They should be at least 256px x 256px and 24bit.

If you're having trouble, PM me and I'll fix it for you. But making icons at 256x256 or 512x512 is always the way to go for the right sizing and high resolution.
I wouldnt bother you with that, its like 30 Icons. I just need to find somewhere that will actually let me resize them, all those free sites I've tried dont let you increase the original width on the pics and I dont have Photoshop
