With respect to RUN DMC, NWA and all of the artists that came before, it was The Chronic that put rap music on the map. It wasn't some assembly line,made-with-a-marketing-formula album either.

Even though my true musical taste differs from the overall sound of this record, I still have tremendous affinity for it. It's enormously groundbreakingand has some of the best hip-hop songs of all time. It's a record that cannot and will not be replicated.
