ROYCE DA 5'9" WILL BE THE BREAKOUT ARTIST THIS YEAR

Royce SHOULD be one of the most popular rappers in the game based on skills alone. But, we all know how that goes.

Thats what i think, but i agree no one appreciates good lyricism any more and it really is a shame. None of the @@@$ that gets played today could fly back in the day where you actually needed to have skills, skills went just an extra and optional part of the package. But for real i dont know Royce can do some big things. If he gets signed by Nas... i mean its not like he really fell hard he was locked up for a year but now he is back and he is finished with his Premo produced album and ive heard a few songs one song called "Shake This" is mad nice. And i think hes gotta better chance to blow up than Saigon right now cause his beats will be off the chains cause of Prem, and he obviously got the lyrics especially in that new song "Shake This" he spits it nasty. He is no doubt talented, i think he has not fallen yet, this album could be big. One things for sure im rooting for him hard. Hip-Hop needs to go back to rappers with actual skill and most of the rappers still with skill from back in the day are too old right now like Nas and Hov. Hopefully Royce will sign with Nas and Nas can put him under his wing along with Prem on the tracks and Nas can thelp make him big as the face of "The Jones Experience"

No....dude's been around for like 10 years now...he ain't gonna be "big" anytime soon.ever.

when i say "big" i dont mean like hes gonna sell tons and tons of copies because no good rappers do nowadays, because people listen to all this wack@+% hip-hop and that will always sell the copies nowadays.

But im saying if yall know real hip-hop than his next album will be
pimp.gif
And although he may not sell SOOO many copies his name will be recognized with thegood lyricists of this generation. Maybe he wont be huge in record sales, but i mean Nas dont really sell big records anymore but it doesnt mean he is trash.Being "Big" is not about how much you see its about being recognized by people like us who knows whats good.

Thats what im talking about with Royce.

Maybe that's YOUR interpretation of BIG but BIG to the masses pertains to one's popularity.

Someone who millions don't know about can't be considered BIG. Nas can put out an album tomorrow and at least move 200-300K because he's a"big" artist. Royce will never have that luxury.

Royce has a lot of good stuff though, I listen to him all the time. I just don't see him getting a lot more attention then what he gets now.

Thats why i said the "next" big. Maybe he wont be pulling down record sales like Lil' Wayne because he cant reach out to thataudience. But hes good enough to be the next big artist in terms of like that kind of class the Nas class. He wont be Nas, but i think he can be the biggest oflike the rest of the group. But i dont mean hes gonna be pulling in double platinum because yall are right not even Nas is doing that right now because thegood artists arent making it right now. I still think his next album "Street Hop" produced by Premier though will be big.

i dont think so... only way he would have blown up if he stayed with Em... either nickel nine is dope and you dont need to be a superstar to make CLASSIC musici think hes more comfortable with that... anyway i cant wait for the 5'9 & Elzhi album that has the potential to be a classic:.

Royce Is A Beast. I Always Knew His Nice I Just Ain't Listen To Him. But I DL Bar Exam 2 And That +$@ Is Nice

Although I'd be happy if it happened, the state of mainstream rap itself pretty much guarantees that it's totally unfeasible.

look at 50 cent.......dude had been out since he blew up....it can still happen for royce nickle nine
kill it
laugh.gif
..Royce cant come up with half as catchymelodies as 50...It was a wrap for Royce after Dre gave him the boot

to call him "the next big thing" makes me think you just start checking for dude. He's been established in his lane for years now...

If Royce was gonna blow, he woulda did it earlier in his career when he had The Neptunes, Kanye, Alc, etc producing for him....

Premo aint the dude you go to if you tryna make a mainstream push, so I doubt thats the mentality he's in...but he got the talent to. Ive heard songs ofhis that sounded like they coulda def been on the radio...

this thread belongs in 2000. back when there was 26 members, no music section and dirty only had 7453 posts.

I'm bringing this back cause im sticking to my word. He has been rejuvinated since getting out of jail, so i dont want that he could have already blew up.this is a new Royce right here.

Bar Exam 2 was

And all of his new joints being released (shake This, Part of Me, and yesterday Homage to Premier, and his freestyle with Joe budden was released) are

Street Hop (produced by Premier) will be the best album this year and its coming out on 4/21

say what you want but Royce > Drake IMO. This mans swag right now is out the roof. nobody wants it with him right now.

Exactly! I love Royce and that Shake This joint is fiyah but I do not see him blowing up at all. However I can care less if he blows up....justput out a good album and continue to make good music.

I didn't even read your post OP but from the thread title alone I'm comfortable saying that you're either delusional or unaware of Royce'shistory. Dudes been deep in the game for damn near 10 years now. He's never gonna blow, this is not gonna be his breakout year, that ship has long sailed. From the title you sound stuck on a dream that Royce himself gave up on 5 years ago. Royce ISN'T going to break out this year, FOH. He will continue tomake dope music which is all you can ask.
