Not everyone is like that, but I'm noticing there's more and more people of that ilk nowadays...mostly the younger crowd. Dude who I was talking about(the whole "east coast rappers are trash because they don't have that swagger that the south does") is like my little brother, he's about 3years younger than me...but he's ignorant when it comes to music.

Son this argument applies to every single region; matter of fact, NY is the worst culprit. Every single dude I've met from NY claims their rap is superior to all other regions, and the majority of it is trash. TRASH. NY got the most hyped rappers on the planet, simply because their fans hype them up like it's no tomorrow. We got Joe Buddens, Jadakiss, Fab, Joel Ortiz, Juelz Santana, Papoose, I can go on and on. These dudes all stink, and never get any play outside of NY. They can't even be called overrated because no one rates them.Originally Posted by truthmain

That's why I say that the majority of Bay music heads (well atleast the ones I know) are straight-up idiots. I have an open-ear for music. If it's good, I like it. It it sucks, I strongly dislike it. They have an obligation to claim that Bay music is the best just because they live there. What the **!* kind of logic is that? And that is why I say that I can't have a legit rap convo with Bay folks. Most of them think the same, and most of them are stuck in the same box.

First of all, Budden, Fab, and Jada are not trash at all.
Secondly, atleast people from NY are right in their claims. It's a well-known fact that the best music comes from New York. Anybody with a grain of senseknows that. It's something that cannot be argued. You're probably going to counter and say "well that's your opinion," but let's beserious. If you don't think that the best music and the majority of great artists come from New York, you're crazy. Honestly, the catalogs of the topNY artists is >>>>>> all other regions combined, and it's not even close.

I think E-40 ran with the hyphy movement, Keak Launched the Hyphy movement and we been going dumb in the town. Keak started it, Dre helped get everybody on it,But 40 jus took it worldwide.

I dont see 40 as the voice of the bay, real talk. He was dope and all back in the day. In a major way was a good album.
I dont think he sold out tho. Like dude said before he always showed love to the other bay artists. He just had to stay relevant in the game. He's oneof the only bay N's that people on the east coast know about. They dont know about other bay artist that are raw because there not mainstream. Themajority of bay rappers are on an underground tip, u feel me? and its coo like that IMO.
I feel as if people from other parts cant connect with bay artists. Real talk tho. Yall just dont understand how it is out here. What the scene is like.

new york has nas/jay thats it!...everyone else is either weak or aint doing NOTHING...besides everyone who comes out of new york has no personality..everyonesraps about the same stuff...sounds the same..dresses the same...almost nothing seperates them apart...i mean c'mon...who was the last person to come out ofnew york and b different...busta rhymes?everyones got the same swagger or i mean everyone wants the same swagger..so i guess if you like one ny rapper you likethem them all...atleast westcoast has flava...from northern cali to southern cali..n stop putting fab on your list..dude really could be missed from hiphop..prolly jada too...n i mess with them tho...but honestly...they havent done anything this decade..wait fab was on the bed remix.my bad

As long as NY got Nas, Jay, Fab, Jada, AZ, etc...NOBODY is seeing NY just off the strength of those dudes alone.
