If there was one word to describe Carmelo Anthony's fifth signature shoe, the Jordan Melo M5, it would be versatility. The shoe carries on Jordan Brand's tradition of honoring an athlete's excellence through the shoe's design and performance. Known for his quickness, power, and agility, the international superstar has proven his ability to play every position on the court.
Right out of the box, the Jordan Melo M5 is tuned for a high performance game on the hardwood. By analyzing the needs of athletes from a range of different sports D'Wayne Edwards, Footwear Design Director of Jordan Brand, designed a shoe that Melo could play all five positions on the court. At just 15 ounces, the Jordan Melo M5's light weight allows Melo to glide through defenders like a point-guard; the forefoot flex grooves provide flexibility for a shooting guard; the superior fit combined with heel and forefoot Zoom Air cushioning is great for a small or power forward; and the medial and lateral outsole wraps up the sides to provide improved support for Melo to post up down low.

Similar to the BMW sportscar that shares the same model name, M5, the Jordan Melo M5 is as unique for its design as is its high tuned performance. The Melo M5 borrows design cues from a number of Carmelo Anthony's favorite Air Jordans to honor the historic 23rd anniversary of the franchise. The Air Jordan 6 lent inspiration for the heel tab; the Air Jordan 11 was a design cue for the curved toe and presence of patent leather; the Air Jordan 15 provided inspiration for the heel; and the Air Jordan XX3 was represented by the upper from a number of cues.

Look for the Jordan Melo M5 to release nationwide in stores on Saturday, November 22nd with a retail price of $125.

Thanks..
Im surprised we haven't gotten many up close pics/info on this shoe...
They drop the ankle sleeve?..

^ those were an early generation sample. I thought that some of the early samples that DE came up with were really good, but the final product I prefer. Also,I am not really feeling the 15's all over the shoes....much rather have the chain link pattern

Can't wait to try them!!...I just wish they had some originality to them....Because most of Melos shoes have been .5's (except M3&M4's)....Thismight as well be another Fusion!..But I know they are gonna be great hooping shoes....cause I still hoop in my M3's!

This shoe is a huge let down. I've always been a fan of the Melo line especially when they started giving him his own original designs like with the M3 andM4. They've always had good looks and great performance with his shoe. The M3 is still one of the best looking and best performing basketball shoes of thepast 5 years. But now they've once again gone back to just rehashing old Jordans and doing the Frankenstein thing to make one horribly lame shoe. They needto go back and be original again. I'm tired of the fusion-dub-rings era that JB is in. Get some fresh ideas instead of copying classics.

Shoe has definitely gone through some changes after looking at that original sample! I think it came out pretty well though. The shoe in other colors also hasnice make ups. DE did a good job!

Did it have to have ca all over the shoe? What is up with that tongue? They do look pretty comfortable though, but stiff. Have to see them in person, for finaljudgment, but I haven't really liked a melo shoe since the 5.5...

I think this is the best Melo shoe after the 1.5, i'm waiting for the black/caro colorway...
