Official Toronto - Outlet and Store report

I wanted the Details too, I thought Sportschek and Livestock/Capsule would get them cause they got the previous two releases. After the release day I asked Sportschek and they told me no but they will be receiving the Venomenons in early April (which are on the website now).

Ok cool, Repped for the info

To all the 'Lo heads who didn't get anything off the good ol' employee grab a couple weeks back, The Bay finally has sale on all S/S stock which includes the Polo Bear collection from before Christmas. All the Polo Bear **** is flying. Thank me later...

i agree with 100% of what this poster says.

as a person who often goes cross border shopping often, i do get taxed SOMETIMES.

over the long haul, what you shoudl be buying should be dirt cheap so 13% tax is not that bad and sincei don't get taxed everytime its not a biggie.

the main advice that this person mentioned i'd like to iterate is (this is for ONE day trip only):

1) not worth hiding items to customs as its too risky to get blacklisted over a pair of kicks or a purse

2) better to claim SOME items than NO items ( also, they are less suspicious if you do spend a decent amount )

3) be smart and wear whatever items you can, and throw away receipts/tag.

essentially, wear whatever you can without being fishy (wear the shoes if u can throw out your existing ones, layer the sweater or jacket overtop, wear the purse if you didn't bring one over, etc). that way, even if you DO get taxed, its not on everything u bought.

they are usually fine with up to $100 in one day per person  but depends on their mood. they can't tax everybody who spends over the limit. their goal is to catch ppl who lie completely, or just shady ppl in general .

also, if it terms out you spent nothing, at least mention you had a good meal at cheesecake factory or something so they don't get suspicious. honestly, ppl do go over JUST to eat, so its not uncommon.

[knock on wood] I've been very lucky with crossing the border and never been taxed (maybe cuz I look like an upstanding citizen

.  I always declare full amount.  I have driven back with ~$150/per person before on day trips. If you're in the US for under 24 hours, there is no exemption; but if you're there for 24 - 48 hours, you're allowed $200/per person and you have alcohol/tobacco allowance (if you don't smoke/drink, hook a friend up - cigarettes are ~30% and alcohol is ~50% at duty-free of what it costs here) - it's $800 if you're in the US for over 48 hours.

As @db9infrared said, it's mostly luck and it's up to the discretion of the officer.  They usually won't bother with charging you if they believe you're telling the truth (their main job is to make sure people aren't smuggling illegal goods in, not to tax you).  Heard the 'unofficial' limit is ~$50/person for day trips, but don't quote me on that.  Think it also helps if you're crossing with more people (i.e. 4 pairs of shoes for a carload of people pretty reasonable, but 4 pairs for driver only is a bit weird).  Also, I think they factor in how long you're out of country - i.e. if you crossed over for 30 minutes and came right back, pretty obvious you're picking up a package, but if you spent most of the day there - it's regular shopping.

I would recommend having your online receipts with you or opening up your packages to grab the receipt - as the guard often asks you if you have receipts.  Heard if they suspect you of lying on the price / have no receipt - they search online for the price and they will usually go with whatever is the highest.  Only heard of this happening to a friend of a friend that underdeclared some car rims.  Would be sh*tty if you bought some hyped drop at retail and they went on eBay and charged you tax on the reseller price.

Overall though, I think you have a lower chance of getting taxed driving back than getting taxed when a package is shipped in to you.  I nearly always get dinged on UPS/FedEx/DHL because they make money off brokerage fees (the fact they have to 'clear' your package and pay your duties/taxes for you).  I have much better luck with USPS, but it's still a gamble.

Even with conversion, mailbox fee, NY state tax, etc. -- it's often still worth it to get your package shipped to the US rather than to Canada.  US shipping is usually free while most stores charge $30 - $40 to ship to Canada.  Even if you get taxed at the border, you usually breakeven from the local price + tax.  Of course, this excludes time spent and gas to drive down - but I head down with the wifey to do some shipping and pick up my packages then.

Another thing you can do is to wear your purchases back if you don't care about the shoebox.  I don't bother with undeclaring/smuggling stuff back in because getting blackmarked whenever you cross the border will suck.
Appreciate all the advice!

Went all over town today. Either I don't know the roads or is traffic always bad in/out downtown area? Took me almost 45 minutes to drive from SVPQueen to Capsule.

Traffic is bad, but on a Sunday it should've taken you 15 minutes.

I already checked the Bred 1 thread for that. Was specifically unsure about the insoles because I didn't find any pictures.
You can start a thread and post those photos. People are quick to help and you'd get a pretty fair judgement from knowledgable people.

Anyone know if they carry RLX at The Bay?

Yes, they do.  You can usually catch some nice stuff on clearance too.  Alot of the self proclaimed "Lo-heads" are strictly horse hunting, they will leave great Ralph pieces on the racks collecting dust if there's no pony on the chest.  That's when I swoop in and catch them on the low.

Hey I was at Erin mills town Centre and the foot locker has jordan 3 infrared 8.5, and kobe 9 Bruce Lee sz 11 and 12
