Should I be worried about this small hole and that crack? Now that it’s zoomed in it looks like there’s another one forming too

That shouldn't happen. Looks like daniels is using some crusty *** gold to make their jewelry. I don't have that on any of my jewelry, at all.

So my mom went to the phillippines and I asked for a rope chain because jewelery is cheaper there. She got me a chain and it looks nice, but it's extremely light. Makes me believe its hollow. It's an 18k rope chain and supposedly 3mm and 22". She said they don't really do solid chains and a search lead me to another post on this thread from a few years ago where someone said other countries usually don't do solid chains. Especially after 18k+. Any validity to it? I'm grateful for the chain, but I need to be careful not to break it considering its hollow. Stamps show its 18k Italian gold.

Yeah... thats called pitting, and unfortunately there is no easy fix. The gold actually needs to be melted down to remove all the impurities.

Is this just happening on the lock area? Because I'm pretty sure these few links are cast and this could be porosity from bad casting.
If it is on other areas on other links around the bracelet than it is probably caused by wearing it in a chlorine pool like

said. Chlorine eats away at the other alloys in gold. I would only swim in chlorine pools with 24k. Showering would not have caused this issue.

honestly you should prolly chop those few links and get a new clasp..unless you have pitting in the middle of chain as well
