Hey so I lurk a **** ton on this thread and figured I might as well give an update on what im currently working with especially since the last time i posted it was around 2 years ago with 3 hollow 10k rope chains, What im currently sitting on is a 1ct ruby stud (birthstone), 2  cubans 4mm each (1 from daniel other from pawnshop), custom but generic pamp bar (stones are black diamonds), and my first "chain" a 1.8mm spiga that I use for religious pieces. some detailed photos to follow.......

Daniels is left and pawnshop is right. daniels is 22 inches and weighs in at 28.75 grams while  the pawnshop cuban is just a little

over 21 and weighs in at 29 grams. both of which are 14kt  and cost 1600 and 1500 CAD respectively.

The gold bar weighs in at 18 grams (10 gram bar) with a 14kt gold case and diamond border, it cost just under 3000 when said and done, In person it looks amazing photos don't give it justice in my opinion. I'm not sure on the total carat weight for the diamonds but he quoted me 1200 for the stones and their installation.

Finally the Ruby is a 1ct stone in 14kt setting, gotta say I was mad stoked when I got this and still happy about it. I was a little pissed since I really wanted a pigeon red ruby but I guess he couldn't find the stone but he still found something proper, I was charged 500 for it,

and here some stuff I wear out to the club when I really want to party
pimp.gif
.  just playing I copped this for my girl for 400 the other day off my boy, the necklaces are featherweight and 10kt gold, with some small diamonds in the pendants, finally the last piece is a tiffany ring.

Here whats I started with

from bottom to top

8mm 26inch 44gram 10kt hollow rope ($1500)

5mm 22inch 10gram 10kt hollow rope ($500)

3mm 7 3/4inch 3gram 10kt hollow rope($200)

Niketalk wasnt lying when they said Rey's >>> Daniels

I bought a 5mm Cuban from Daniels around 2 years ago when everyone was saying Daniels was the place for Cubans, recently I've been playing around with the idea of upgrading to a 6mm - 7mm Cuban. I figured since I bought the chain from Daniels I figured they'd prolly hook it up because 1. It was a chain I bought from them and they made, 2. Because I was gonna spend more money at there store but heres how it's broke down.

They wanted to give me around $1400 for my 52 gram 14k Cuban when they sell the exact chain for around $2300. The 7mm I wanted was about $3300 so Daniels told me with the trade in of my chain it would be $1900. Just looks like a deal not worth it on my end. I'd rather buy a 7mm than trade in my 5mm for scrap/ melt value. Maybe I was wrong to assume he would give me a better price I was assuming I could prolly pay off the difference with all the things considered.

I dont know man but that actually seems like a good deal to me lol. Im surprised they would give you $1400 for your old chain.

I dont know what you're smoking but if a jeweler is willing to buy your old chain for $27/gram thats a very good deal. Who cares what they sell it for. I know jewelry stores around here that will give you $10/gram and they sell for $60 lol.

It's only 2 years old, maybe not a bad deal but I was looking for better.

$1,900 trade in value for something that they sell for $2,300 seem very fair to me. :\

$1400

I could sell it on my own for more its old but only 2 years old. I appreciate the input though guys.

Plus the guy bought it two years ago when gold prices were high. Now that it's settled, why would you expect Daniels to honor equal price for something that has devalued technically.

Good point I didn't think of that, gold was substantially higher 2 years ago.

Regardless I'll prolly just sell the previous chain on my own on Craigslist or something.

Seriously thats a good deal. Or you can always try to sell it on your own but i dont see you getting more that 30/gram on a private sale. Then take that cash and offer Rey $3000 straight up for a 100 gram chain.

Maybe for 10k but not 14k. That would be kind of insulting lol. I think the best he will do is 30/gram which is pretty much the best deal around. That Gold n Diamonds place does 30/gram for chains 100 grams or more too.

To be honest I'm not a fan of going back in forth with haggling on a price. I'd be very happy to pay $3000 but like I said Daniels and Rey's both quoted $3300 so I'm expecting that price.

I also said I would visit the store and able to pay in cash.

Especially if you're paying cash man. I think Rey has hooked up 30/gram on a chains and bracelets that are around 100 grams for fellow NTers. Hope it works out.
