Can any customers here break down the difference between Rey's Cuban and Icebox's Cuban?




Much appreciated.

A lot of jewelers aren't making their own Cuban links and if they are bet they aren't hand made or they are hand made but terrible. It's a trade a lot of folks cannot master.

Look at Daniels and CMG links both good quality but not as good as Rey's.
When I look at a Cuban I look to see how tight the links are and how straight the chain is. That alone seals the deal for me. If the links are loose and flying every where pass. Simple as that.

Another thing is Rey really a humble dude.

Save up another 1000 and you can prolly get 7-8mm 10k Cuban from Rey's.

I was confused by this as well, glad someone called him out on it.

As recent as Feb

Rey's charged me $2250 for 75 grams 14k

Daniels was going to charge me $2500 for 75 grams 14k

so wasn't this Rey fellow making/makes cubans that are a lot chunkier than competitors?  as in how thick the links are laying on a flat surface.  when I do a quick search on a place like fleabay where you can ask plenty of questions and maybe get a quick answer it seems like it's normal for 10-11mm cubans to be like 4mm max and much thinner.  I have a 9mm cuban and I think it's less than 4mm : ( .  do cubans have to be like 12mm and up to guarantee a chunky link?  oh and to add to that allergy thing earlier, I Think that the flash plating/electroplating or whatever of high karat gold that seems to be applied to most chains these days helps with that but I could be mistaken.

You sure Daniels charged you 22/g for 10k ? If they did i'm guessing they made a mistake. Reys is usually a bit cheaper than Daniels. It would be nice to see Rey offer some thinner chains though.

Yeh the chain seems to be a higher rate than the bracelet. I don't remember if I compared the rate to other mm's of daniels 10k bracelet

I have no clue how they decide to price stuff. Reys does a quote and daniels I've always heard you can haggle with down from the website prices

The website price for what I wanted was so low on daniels I didn't bother to haggle. Then it came 5g's overweight.

Yeh I think there are discrepancies between rates per gram on the site for different pieces. Not sure why the bracelet is at a lower rate than the chain

It also came 5g's heavier than the approximate weight on the website. So that's how the deal was even better than the website advertised

People on here say you can haggle with Daniel's. I didn't bother to try though cause the price was so good

Peace of mind is all. I would want to make sure its not 9k. Nothing against Daniels, i would get it tested no matter where i bought it. Especially on a hand made piece. You wouldn't bother ?
