10k shouldn't be considered "gold"

It's just another alloy imo. Don't have a problem with people wearing it, just don't call it "gold".

And let's cut the car comparisons out. None of them made sense.

That **** shouldnt be called gold, it should be called alloy

The percentage just doesn't work in the golds favor

Eh anything 23k and below is an alloy of some kind.  The lower karat alloys do seem to be more durable in my experiences.  So if someone has a piece on some long chain that's banging into things I could see where they wouldn't bother with 18k unless it was white gold.  Plus refineries are never like sorry, no 10k gold as far as I know.  I will say that I had this 10k chain that was kinda heavy that left impressions of it's links on my neck when I took it off.  I'm not sure if 14k would do the exact same thing though.  So just a few 18k bracelets these days, those don't give me too much trouble.

If you want your jewelry to be considered an investment, 10k is not where its at.  Doesnt matter if you pay retail 45 dollars a gram for that 10k cuban.  When it comes time to get off of it, your getting 15 dollars a gram, if that......

I actually only have one 10k ring and everything else is 14k. I live in Canada and the most common gold is 10k and i know in England it is 9k so there is more selection to find stuff in that karat compared to 14k and 18k where the styles are limited. And yes you might get $15/gram for your 10k gold but you will only get $20-$25 for your 14k gold that you paid $20-$25 more for when you bought it...

Not true. Ill get what I paid, if not more if I were to sell my Krugerand pendant and ring set up.  Same with my baht chain.

In your case yes you're right. But the average person doesn't pay below spot for their jewelry. I'm talking about the average person buying 10k, 14k, 18k jewelry not 22k, 24k coins. It's likely you will always lose money when buying jewelry from retailers and then reselling down the road. Too make money you gotta really hunt for good deals usually by private sales.

So yall can flame me all youd like, but i can only afford silver and i try to get clean silver jewelry. I have a 5mm miami cuban from daniels and 3.5mm franco. No my debate is weather to get a baby jesus from IF or get a 8mm cuban from daniels. Both are about the same price, but i do feel like the IF jesus is overpriced just to have the authentic style jesus.
