There is a lot of discussion coming out of last night's show. With the exception of Yard Father, most felt that it was a very poor effort from the WWE. In my opinion, it was the worst WWE PPV since December to Dismemeber, and definitely the worst "major" PPV in years. I say it was awful because ofthe entertainment value of the show, not for the news coming out of it. Let's do a quick rundown.

-Team HBK d. Team JBL - Not really a surprise here. Cryme Tyme was buried. Morrison looked strong. I hope they aren't setting up another Khali push. Match was solid, but nothing special.
-Raw Divas d. Smackdown Divas - Match was terrible. Went way too long. Santino was hilarious as usual.
-The Undertaker d. The Big Show in a Casket Match - This was the worst casket match in history. Both men phoned it in. It is sad to say, but it may benearing the end of The Taker's career. The Show's career just continues to be a disappointment. Remember when he was headlining WrestleMania thisyear?
-Team Orton d. Team Batista - This was probably my favorite match of the night. I liked the ending with Batista looking strong but Orton nailing him with anRKO to get the win. Should be interesting to see where they go with Orton and Priceless.
-Edge d. HHH and Vladimir Koslov to become the new WWE Champion - This was a terrible bait and switch. The WWE explicitly pushed Hardy in the main event overthe past two weeks, only to pull him with a piss poor explanation. The match itself was AWFUL. Koslov will not be back in the main event picture afterstinking it up with HHH. I am assuming Edge goes on to fued with Jeff Hardy. Like I said last night, this was far too similiar to Jericho winning the titlein the championship guantlet match or whatever it was called.
-John Cena d. Chris Jericho to become the new World Champion - This wasn't a terrible match, but it went too long. Cena wasn't ready to wrestle a 30minute match in his first match back. I understand why Cena won the belt. The WWE is struggling, and they know Cena is their biggest draw. I feel bad forJericho, as he did a great job on Raw, but in the current scene, I don't see him holding the title again any time soon. He will be the one to job, as theyeventually build toward Cena vs. Batista at WrestleMania 25.

I expressed my disgust enough in the Survivor Series thread regarding the who Jeff Hardy angle. It was completely tasteless on the WWE's part, even fortheir standards. I'll just leave it at that for now. We'll see how it is addressed on Smackdown this week.

Also, as a cost cutting measure the WWE has decided to start taping two episodes of Smackdown together in some instances. Again, I understand why they aredoing it, but I hate that they are doing it as it completely kills the crowds by the end of the show. Expect the WWE to dust off the speakers from theGoldberg era because they will need to start pumping in crowd noise for the second show of the tapings.

Nothing has been announced yet for Raw, so we can just continue our discussions from last week's thread for now.

Eric Bischoff has fired back at Vince McMahon for threatening to sue Ed Leslie for using the "Brutus the Barber Beefcake" name on Hulk Hogan's CCW show. Here are his comments.

"So, "Big Bad Billionaire" Vince and his high power lawyer wants BHE TV LLC to cease and desist from using "Brutus The Barber Beefcake" within our show "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling" on CMT.

I won't go in to the legal aspects of the case, but suffice to say that we received the letter from Vince's lawyer in early November and responded accordingly (and continue to use Brutus The Barber Beefcake).

Prior to receiving the letter, I got a call from Brian Knobs who informed me that Vince's surrogate Johnny Ace called Brian, who hasn't worked for WWE in a decade, and threatened him not to go near any WWE talent or events as no one who is associated with CCW will ever work for WWE again. Then I found out that Jimmy Hart, one of the hardest working and loyal people I have ever met, was told he was no longer going to be used for WWE promotions because of his association with CCW, even though he asked for and received permission to do our show! As we subsequently learned, Vince went ballistic after viewing an episode of CCW and ordered Johnny to make the calls.

The truth is, I don't blame Vince for going ballistic.

If I were Vince, I wouldn't want 5+ million wrestling fans watching a fresh concept and entertaining product either. Especially with the product he is currently producing. And based on the response we have been getting to this weeks Hard Core episode with special guest Bill Goldberg, Vince may be blowing gaskets as I type (if you missed it check your schedules for replays of this weeks CCW on CMT)

According to Brian, Johnny told him that Vince was furious that CCW "exposed" the business. If that statement weren't so transparent it would almost be funny. Even the most die-hard WWE loyalist knows that Vince has exposed the business more than anyone in history whenever it suits his financial self-interest (see avoiding regulation and taxation by athletic commissions) or lame creative decisions (Hornswoggle).

For Vince McMahon to attempt to bully and intimidate Brian Knobs, Jimmy Hart, or Brutus is pathetic. These men have every right to pay their bills and feed their families. Vince McMahon didn't invent the wrestling business, he has just exploited it more than anyone in history and I respect him for that. But that doesn't mean the wrestling industry is his own personal domain. His recent actions are simply his way of trying to maintain his monopoly like grip on the business and is reacting to what he thinks is a threat.

For all of you fans who have been supporting CCW, I want to thank you. The emails and suggestions for what you would like to see in season 2 are much appreciated."

There's a rumor that today Gail Kim and Melina will appear and or be in tonight's RAW Show. They were spotted at last night's Survivor Series PPV, and Gail was spotted hanging around the WWE superstars at a restaurant after the show.

Announced for Raw tonight is:

HBK/Mysterio vs. Morrison/Miz

Opening round matches in a tournament for an IC Belt match.

John Cena returns to Raw

Well, we all knew Cena was coming back. We'll listen to what annoying, scripted promo he cuts tonight.

A midcard tourny? Wow, exciting. If Santino's not the winner, something major is wrong.

As a side note, the reason Regal only lasted 11 seconds last night was because he was sick.

8743724

I know the WWE is all about 50/50 booking, but I don't see Miz and Morrison jobbing tonight. Morrison finally seems to be gaining some momentum. I hopeit's not lost tonight.

A I.C. tourney would be great if they actually focused on the mid carders. I can't even come up with a solid list of mid carders. Santino is a joke. Kofiis rarely seen. Priceless hasn't been going over with me do to them getting smacked around by Batista and thats about it. Oh wait I just remember Mysterio,Morrison and Miz. That would have been a nice tourney.

Thanks 4 wrestling for posting my stuff from the other threads. Ill wait for iLLoQuent to post more news before i post some of mines.

My thoughts on last nights pay-per-view is:

I put it on mute and watched the sunday night football game.

It was so weak. Edge( 1 of my favorite wrestlers) looked weak
The whole match was boring and maybe one of the worst i have ever seen in my life.

I was glad to see cena back( as crazy as that sounds) but i just wish he wouldnt of won. A fued between him and Y2J would have been
eek.gif

Orton was the only bright spot of the whole night imo.

I hope tonights raw explains alot.

What are the odds WWE misbooks the raw world title picture and makes Jericho look weak?

Upon further review, I withdrawal my statement about it being a great pay per view.

Although I did find it to be very entertaining, drinking and watching it with a group of friends on the new 47" for the first time might have hadsomething to do with it, great wrestling atmosphere. Also because I hadn't read much news online, Edge's return was a huge surprise to me.

So it wasn't a great show, but the team Orton vs team Batista match was good, especially the finish. The return of Edge is always good, especially if itleads to a feud with Jeff.

The one thing I do still believe is that Cena and Jericho's match was great.

I wish Edge and Hardy were on Raw and Michaels and Bradshaw were on Smackdown. I barely ever watch Smackdown anymore (Friday nights
eyes.gif
) I really hope they build up Royal Rumble better than they did Survivor Series. The buildup was terrible and the show they put on yesterday was nothing more than a C- at best.

Jules, are you still on LPC?

Naw i quit awhile ago. You still on there?

I'm gonna tune into Raw tonight, but I'm more than not looking forward to Cena's promo (which I'm sure will open the show)

However, I am more than interested to see how they are gonna play out this Edge/Vickie thing. Last time we saw Edge (grizzly beard FTW), Vickie was feeding hissoul to Taker. Regardless, I'm always glad to see my favorite wrestler back... especially if it gets the strap off of HGH.

News & Notes

Steve Austin in plans for WrestleMania 25; possible final match still in the air.

- There are plans for Steve Austin to be involved at WrestleMania XXV in Houston, Texas in April. While his role remains undefined, we have not heard any plans of him actually working a match. Austin has always maintained that he could wrestle again so until we hear for sure that he will not wrestle, nothing can be ruled out no matter how unlikely that it may seem.

Notes on last night's Survivor Series; dark match results, the Edge swerve and original plans for Cena winning.

- Edge winning the WWE Championship was a swerve from WWE creative and was not the original plan. WWE had planned on doing Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozlov at Armageddon next month as well as a triple-threat match between Batista, John Cena, and Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship. The venue where Armageddon will be held, the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York, still has the preliminary advertising material online. Click here to view it.

- As for John Cena's World Heavyweight Championship win, we were actually told that the plan was for Cena to win the strap as far back as 11/14. While plans like this are always subject to change (and usually do change before executed), most of the people that I talked too felt confident that WWE was going to put the belt on Cena given how hard the company pushed his return.

--- Brian Kendrick defeated Kung Fu Naki in a dark match prior to Survivor Series. After the match, Ezekiel beat up Funaki.

Injury notes on Survivor Series.

- Here are some injury notes from tonight's pay-per-view: JBL was busted open hardway during his Traditional Survivor Series match on a stiff shot... Shawn Michaels took a stiff shot to the right eye in the same match which could end up becoming a black eye... Chris Jericho was busted open hardway on his forehead during the main event match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Screw-ups from Survivor Series.

- During the Undertaker/Big Show match after the fire shot up on the entrance way some of the rubber on the stage caught on fire and started to smoke. A crew member ran up there and stomped it out with his feet while on camera.

- During the Team Batista vs Team Orton match, Tazz mentioned R-Truth's old name, Ron Killings.

- When Edge won his match, Lillian said he was the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, not the WWE CHAMPION which is the belt he really won.

What Sting's role is and his future plans.

-- The plan for Sting currently is to not have him participate in the Main Event Mafia beat downs. The word is they are doing a "Godfather" type thing where he lets the henchman do the dirty work, he watches and keeps himself out of it. Also, if and when they turn him babyface, the turn can make sense and the faces will be able to forgive him. Sting will not be participating in the UK tour in January 2009.

Gale Kim and Melina backstage at RAW tapings; either one might appear on RAW.

-- Gail Kim and Melina are backstage at tonight's Raw tapings in Providence, Rhode Island. One or both are expected to appear on the live broadcast tonight. Also, according to a reader, Gail Kim was seen at Chinese restaurant "Kowloon" with a number of other WWE wrestlers yesterday.

Mr. Kennedy interview; speaks about past mistakes, steroid usage and more.

The Daily Star out of the United Kingdom has a new article online featuring quotes from Kennedy. The reporter asks Kennedy why he told everyone that would listen to him that he quit taking steroids, only for him to end up getting suspended under the WWE Wellness Policy back in 2007. Kennedy said the following:

"Overall I made a mistake. I'm sorry for it, I'm trying to move on and get past it... I would love to sit down with you for two or three hours and explain things... I was on a time schedule, so I would omit certain parts that I did not deem necessary. There is a lot more to it than what was said... It's something I feel passionately about. I believe wrestling has changed, and of course it's still apparent because I hear stories about the past, and how things were in the 80s. They are funny now, but at the time it was horrific, what happened on the road, and all the unethical things people did."

Kennedy added: "I stand by the fact that I stopped taking steroids for cosmetic reasons... If you simply look at pictures of me, there's a huge difference from when I started to now... When one partakes in those substances ... at the time I thought I was impervious, invincible... I ran into some of those situations, and you don't quit cold turkey - there are health risks... What we do is not ballet, it's an inevitability of our job, and people get hurt."

Edge interview post Survivor Series.

WWE.com has a post-match interview with WWE Champion Edge now online. You can check it out at this link.

Brian Kendrick's wish.

- The latest issue of WWE Magazine features an interview with SmackDown wrestler The Brian Kendrick. When asked what his holiday wish is, he makes an interesting quote. Kendrick said, "A world without laws. I don't like the idea of people telling you that that there's a right way to live and wrong way to live, and that's what laws do.

Yep...this confirms Kendrick is a Martian...word to Lil' Wayne.

this is the lowest point of interest I have ever had in the WWE

it's hard to believe I feel this way but it's the same over and over...there are no storylines anymore and feuds just come and go for no reason

WWE builds strong ideas and then just abandons them or pulls some crap
-the Kane mask angle comes to mind, putting the mask back on Kane would draw a hell of a lot of interest but instead we end with some dumb feud with ReyMysterio

Shane O'Mac is the coolest dude of all time

I like the fact he married his HS sweetheart and isnt like his cheating pops

did Stephanie eat Hornswaggles?
