Matt Cassel has proven that Tom Brady is a product of a system

thatd be so sweeet... but its not true... probably.

I disagree. If anything, Matt Cassel has proved that he has a chance at being a reliable QB in this league. Does anyone honestly believe that the Pats would befighting for a playoff spot if Tom Brady did not get hurt?

Brady is a good quarterback with or without the Pats (obviously), but there is no denying the Pats have the best coaching in the league.

You can throw anyone back there and they will look good after a few weeks (nh).

Randy Moss and Welker make that offense pretty unstoppable. Once he got the timing with Randy down it was all gravy.

Personally, I don't think so... but what does NT think?

Agree/Disagree & Discuss.

What? OP is watching ESPN 1st and 10 to come up with topics. Quite contradictory imo

No,not a system QB. Patriots has too many weapons for any QB to fail

Do you think Matt Cassel is going to end up getting huge bucks from another team ala Matt Schaub and turn a franchise around?

I don't know about turning a franchise around but I definitely think he's making himself some nice money right now.

Like with most QBs, if you have a system in place, coaches who arent morons, and a line that gives you protection you have a very high chance of succeeding nomatter how average you are. Cassel is lucky he is where he is at as much as he is talented.

I think Brady is an all timer, but im not dumb enough to think he would be doing what he is doing if he got drafted by Detroit and started playing in Week 5 inhis rookie season as an example. But as we know that is sports, and if Brady REALLY was a product of the system then we would see Bill simply trade him forpicks and then sign Cassell long term. And i dont think that's going to happen.

On a side note it's hilarious how Matt is playing yet the other Matt (Leinart) he was stuck behind at SC cannot see the field.

Cassel is average at best, but he will get paid this off season.

He is not turning ANY franchise around.

I see him getting some good $ but right now I dont see him turning a franchise around. He is in a nice situation right now, great coaching, great offensiveweapons, etc. and there is a 100% chance that whatever team he goes to next year that will not be the case.

I know he's making himself money and I applaud him for it - he's playing his +%* off right now. Do you think that once he gets behind, say... the 49ersswiss cheese offensive line and ends up on his +%* 4 times a half, he'll lose the confidence he built up in New England?

Would Tom Brady be able to operate behind a !$##@* offensive line? I know he can win with no-name receivers, but his line has always looked pretty solid in NewEngland. What about Peyton?

one thing's for sure...

whoever hires josh mcdaniels as their head coach next offseason, and someone will, matt cassel will surely follow him..

well, ok, only if the team that mcdaniels joins doesn't have a legitimate starting quarterback..

but seriously, cassel will find a job where he'll have a decent opportunity to be the unquestioned starting QB..

talk about a reach.

Anyways - I was gonna post something similar to this, asking if Brady is being proven to be a system product... i think it's a tough argument either way,but a helluva good question at this point.

I think Brady's number 1 strength is his ability to stay composed in the pocket. He's so good at avoiding the rush and buying as much time as he canand finding someone. Like...Bledsoe used to get annihilated because he used to get happy feet and start throwing off his back foot when there was any pressure. When Bledsoe went down and Brady stepped in that was the number 1 noticeable difference between the two of them. Obviously there's only so much you can doand if the offensive line really sucks you're gonna get beat up regardless.
