I couldn't tell you the other 4 right now, but this album automatically gets a spot in the top 5. I dare you to argue that statement.
 
Just my opinion, but I put these 5 ahead of it.

Along with those 5 i think "It Takes a Nation of a Million to Hold Us Back," "ATLiens" and "Reasonable Doubt" are better.
 
I'm a pretty open minded dude and am never one to jump all over another individuals thoughts and/or opinions but I don't see or get how someone COULDNOT have this album in their top 5. This was one of the most well rounded/crafted albums from the production, to the song variety, to the verses Nas spit, tothe topics he touched on, etc. How many people could write a song like "I Gave you Power", or "Shootouts"? Who can tell a story like Nascan? Only other dude I can think of is Big.

And I can't even talk anymore about the production on this album. I don't know what happened but his beat selection went DOWNHILL after this album. Only "Stillmatic" can match the production of "It Was Written".

i've always said it was better than illmatic...Matter of fact i enjoy lost tapes and Iww over illmatic...i'm not saying illmatic is bad...just i likethem more

Hell NO. It ain't anywhere near Top 5. I'll take Illmatic, The Lost Tapes, and Stillmatic over it and that's just from Nas's catalog.
Edit: By NO MEANS am I saying it is a bad album. It's a very solid album but Top 5 all time? Naw. It can be in my Top 3 Nas albums, but that comes downto Stillmatic and It Was Written, and I kinda like Stillmatic more.
 
Its my 3rd fav behind illmatic and the infamous. I will never understand how someone can not appreciate the work Nas put in on this album.
 
Lets just talk about the rappers that mattered in 96, and compare it to THIS garbage . . .

How many of them made an album as wack as IWW?? Not Jay he had RD, not Ghost he had Ironman, not Pac he had Makaveli, BIG was preppin Life After, I smoke toomuch so forget some of the otha cats . . . It aint much to argue about, anyone that thinks this album is even tolerable (or top 5

) prollydoesn't listen to any good hip hop or maybe just started listenin a few years ago . . . I've been a fan of this +#*! for about 18 joints, to hearstupid +#*! like this jus gives more reason to give Thanks for not having AWFUL taste in music . . .

I'm just goin bump the final verse of "Kick In The Door" and listen to the GREATEST MC put Nas and his fake mobster ways in its proper place . ..

IWW is alright. I can only listen to like 5 songs on the album before I move on to something else, but I wouldn't put it no where near my top 5 albums ofall time.
