Nas' "It Was Written" is one of the top 5 greatest Hip-Hop albums of all time. Yea I said it.

IWW i don't know about top 5 but for sure it's top 10.

And Time is just a nas hater, always sayin @#!% about nas
 
I can't really explain IWW, but I'll try.
You know when you got your Ipod on shuffle?
Any song of IWW pops up, and it's dope. You'll listen to it and then move to the next song.
For something like Untitled, if a song(besides a couple) comes up, I HAVE to listen to the entire album.
If I don't want to listen to the entire Untitled album, I'll skip the song.

IWW has all those bangers/cuts, but it doesn't feel like a complete album to me.
Untitled doesn't have as many cuts/bangers as IWW, but it is MUCH more complete of an "album" to me.

Idk, that's how I see it.


I LOVE IWW, but when you're talking about top 5 of all time, and it doesn't have that vibe?
I can't rock with it being a top 5 album of all time.
Top 15? Yeah. Not top 5 though.

IWW has some joints, I'd be frontin, but as an "Album", *++@ is wack, NaS is deffinetly my top 3 fav (and recently I think he may be the GOAT,
but we'll save that argument for later, I'll let BIG hold that for now). The album is just a MESS, its just everywhere it SHOULDN'T be, where
Illmatic was in the project parks or building lobbies, IWW takes you on this OVER done Mafioso flavored ride through what is suppose to be QueensBRIDGE, but
ends up soundin like back and fourth trips from Howard Beach to Ozone to some mob meeting, and monthy trip to Vegas . . . Not the NaS I'm a HUGE fan of . .

As for Com, Dre, and everybody else on that list, i got no problems with it.

For the record though, the idea of IWW as even a top 10-20 album all time baffles me. Like many people said, IWW MIGHT be in consideration for top 5 albums of1996

I have yet to give Untitled it's proper run through. And I'm talkin' about the run through when you just let it ride from front toback with intentions of actually LISTENING to it. I guess I'm just swayed not to because of Nas' past couple albums. The way you talkin' I mightjust have to do that today because when I have listened to it there have been songs that caught my ear and I thought for a 2nd I was gettin' that IWW Nas.

The fact alonethat I still knowALL the lyrics to IWW, Ironman, All Eyez on Me, Tha Doggfather, Hell on Earth, The Score, Reasonable Doubt, Muddy Water, ATLiens, Nocturnal,The Coming, and Enigma tells you something about that year.

yea let me completely rephrase that, IWW might be top 10 of 96, that year was ridiculous
 
It was Written will always be better than Illmatic IMO

I can listen to it more than Illmatic
 
You dudes are something else, Illmatic is way better than It Was Written, and IWW is definitely NOT a Top 5 hip hop album of all time, not even close.
