Opinions on Seattle?

seattle sucks... PERIOD. J/k. that's the portland in me.

overall a good city, except for the traffic and TERRIBLE driving (same goes for portland on the driving end). me being from socal, i don't see how peoplewho grew up in rain, are the WORST DRIVERS IN THE WORLD when it rains.

past that, a great city. the women are beautiful, the amount of stuff to do is great, and the people are friendly.

maybe someone can answer this for me: what's up w/ the seattle inner-city youth just kickin it on the corners and bus stops doing NOTHING??? they'rejust posted downtown and doing absolutely... NOTHING. you wanna tell em "!*%! and catch a bus already."

i love it

probably pitching rocks

the women aren't beautiful. i see the homeliest, plain looking white girls everywhere. the women here are so plain.

I love Seattle because of it's tranquility and all around greatness. It's a peaceful place for the most part (except recently), great music, greatopen-minded people, and you have everything nearby. It's not too large nor too small, but the weather can be depressing and the traffic can get bad. It's only boring if you don't know where to go.

I don't live in Seattle, I live in a suburb called Edmonds about 15 minutes away, but I go to Seattle all the time and I plan on moving there in a coupleof years.

When I form my opinion of Seattle, I frame it against San Francisco, which might explain my distaste for it.

When I was there, the drivers were the worst. Two and 3 lane highways make it seem like there's only 100,000 people living in an area with 4 million.Summer Jam was in the worst possible area. The only way to get to the Amphitheater was through a ho-dunk looking town with one friggin' lane. PacificScience Center was weak. That mall that connects to the monorail was weak. Monorail was weak. Niketown Seattle was weak.

On the plus side, the view from the Space Needle is great.

As far as sports, horrible. For as much "Save our Sonics" on this board, the actual people living in Seattle seemed like they couldn't care less.UW is an embarrassment to the Pac-10. Qwest Field is awesome though. Didn't get to check out Safeco, but heard its great too.

I actually liked the Eastside more. The eastside knows what it is, a bedroom community full of Microsoft employees. Bellevue caters to this by making itsdowntown appealing to upscale folk, which is great.

I'm moving there though, so I guess my hate has to come down.

i grew up in seattle but go to NYU now in the heart of manhattan. seattle is the best city around; i've pretty much seen the world and I know I want toraise my kids in Seattle. nothing compares to my life growing up in the 206, if anyone knows about laurelhurst or ne seattle they know its a great place to be.living on lake washington (NOT in bellevue) is the truthhhh. and that's a fact.

i think to appreciate seattle you really have to live here, i could see why it would be boring from a touristy point of view. most of the spots named (malls, monorail, seattle center in general) are pretty wack and no one who actually lives in the city goes there anyways. we do have a great music scene though.bumbershoot>>>summerjam

btw, i got no beef with portland its also a really nice place.

keep the stoneface to yourself...you didn't realize i didn't put Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Mad Season,Green River, Mudhoney etc...?

portland is a garbage city; crappy drivers, prejudice people, horrible shopping, the whole state is a knock-off of washington. i litter when i walk throughtheir streets.

anyways...

there is no where else in the usa where i would rather live in. friendly people, we have a very diverse community anywhere you go, though seattle is a VERYliberal city. the shopping proximity is close to anywhere you live. seattle is also a great city for anyone is who into the outdoors: hiking, kayaking, biking, canoeing, etc... I never get bored here, there is so much to do. the only people who ever say its boring in seattle are the shelted seattlites who are afraidof trying something different.

i love living here because the weather is good(perfect summers & cold winters), traffic is nothing(atleast for me), the great outdoors, and the overallbeauty of the city's structure.

Its beautiful, goin to UW and lived here my whole life and its def still appreciated. But sports man...i bet OKC folks are sayin "take your teamback" right about now lol. Good

, Good seafood, Good city/skyline, and Seatown hoops have been on the come up as of late..Crawford, Naterob, Broy,Hawes, Webster, Marv Williams, Terrence Williams, Mitch Johnson, and I think a kid from Kentwood is one of the top 5 recruits for the class of 2010 in thenation and some kid from garfield is the #1 for 2011. wow.

^ So your saying theres hope?

Its crazy how much pride everyone from seattle has in seattle, including my self.

Im tryna see what everyone else thinks, I think these clouds got our vision hazy.

I agree with mwebster. You have to live here to fully appreciate it. I visited Seattle a while back and thought it was wack and boring, but its been greatsince I moved here.

I love Washington. I would probably never live in Seattle, but I love Kent. Seattle is fine to kick it in, but I wouldn't want to live in it. And I havelive 20 minutes from downtown for 19 years

seattle is the poop. ive been there 3 times twice in the summer once in the late fall and its real laid back and chill place i would live there anyday.

Nah but the lightrail about to open soon.

Well if you're curious as to what "the rest of the world thinks of the city", then I'd have to say, chances are, Seattle sports isn't thefirst on everyone's list...

However, as an ex-Seattleite, I would have to say 'appreciated'... but like someone else above said, you really need to have lived there in order toappreciate the city. I personally prefer faster-paced cities, but Seattle's layed-back nature has its pros as well...
