Please stop the Portland vs Seattle hate...you guys have no idea...

Live anywhere else in the country and you will quickly find out that Oregon and Washington are lumped together by EVERYONE...to anyone outside of the WestCoast, they are the same states and Portland and Seattle are the same city...seriously, most people think they are suburbs of one another...

Portland and Seattle need to stick together...

I grew up in Portland and lived in Seattle for a little bit...I must say that I love them both...obviously there is a little more to do in Seattle as it is abigger city...but, for all intensive purposes both are beautiful places to live (take that from someone now living in Florida)...and anyone that lives thereshould be happy that they do...

For the guy that posted "coffee" and "rain" as what he thinks of Seattle...SERIOUSLY? YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE IN MIAMI? It rains EVERYDAYfrom March to October in Miami, and when I say rain, I mean THUNDERSTORMS that make it so you can't do anything outside...at least in Seattle you can stilldo outdoor activities in the drizzle...add that to 100% humidity the majority of the year and outdoor activities are limited to November, December, Jan andFeb...

As far as the driving goes...hmmm...again, try living in Florida...

I love Seattle, everything seems to fit well in the city.... Plus I love the summer time here, Bumpershoot, Bite of Seattle, seafair, hempfest.... Plus livingby and working downtown helps

One of my favorite cities in the US...very green...the people were nice everytimethat i've been there and its very peaceful for a big city which I like...I heard that it rains more in NY than Seattle per year...mythbuster?

I always thought of it as drab and bleak with regards to weather.

That being said, it has excellent opportunities for professionals, lovely contemporary architecture, the beautiful outdoors is never too far, and Seattle hasearned a position for being a bastion of liberal thinking.

no one has mentioned sneaker finds in seattle. this is being compared to portland though, which we have NOTHING. and a huge, huge BOOOO to the ES for the XX3drop yesterday. we got shafted. anyway, of mine drove from here to seattle to get the all of his XX3's and he got ALL x 2. that's just an example ofthe convenience. i've only been to goods which is my FAV by far, NT seattle (i LOVE their layout vs ours here), the old capitol 1524, and sneaker city.i've never been to southcenter or the others. for the haters, i used to be like you. a socal kid HATING this place. the weather still sucks after 3.5 yearsof being here but i'm used to it now. i will always hate the panzy +*% drivers here though. past that portland and seattle are great places to live.don't live in the inner-city but the burbs have some cheap home prices. make of it what you will but seattle is GREAT. i'd never live there though. itfeels way too far up in the PNW. a couple of side notes: **the women. i think the women are hot in seattle. even the asian chicks. i'm a black dude whocould care less for asian women (the absolute last on my list), but seattle asian chicks are friggin gorgeous. **i lived in wyoming so compare that to livingeven in weak +*% eugene, or. the PNW and seattle are breaths of fresh air compared to wyoming. **the drivers up here are still panzies. that is all.

i go up to seattle quite a bit for work. i like it up there (and would consider moving). the rain doesn't bother me "too much"
wink.gif
. its more of a drizzle than a downpour. the climate (overall) and scenery aregreat. try going up there from may - september and nothing beats it IMO. evergreens, mild temps, mt. rainier (and other snow capped mountains) are what ilike about Western Washington. the food isn't bad either.

my only gripe is the cost of living and it seems like the only attractive women are near bellevue.

QFT. There's nowhere I'd rather be during the summer.

Like dude said earlier before though, Portland and Seattle do need to stick together.
