Someone convince me to listen to the rest of Kanye's new album....

I'm looking for ANY sort of reason. I was just scanning thru the Kanye album sticky at the top of the page, and I can't help to feel like I'mmissing something. I mean, dudes were talking about tearing up listening to certain songs, discussing how Kanye is a "true" artist, etc. Why am Inot seeing or hearing any of this? To be fair, I haven't listened to the whole album. I don't like the direction Kanye took, and I have only heard 3songs off the album (Robocop, Heartless, and Love Lockdown). It's not like I don't appreciate artists going in a new direction or experimenting with adifferent sound. I thoroughly enjoyed Common's "Electric Circus," Andre 3K's "The Love Below," and also the Gnarls Barkleyprojects. I really appreciate dudes being eclectic, but why can't I get into "808's and Heartbreak?" I'm not one to FORCE myself tobelieve someone is putting out good music. Honestly, that's the vibe I got from reading a lot of cats posts in the Kanye sticky. So, what am I missinghere? Kanye's other projects LR, Graduation, and CD are all incredible IMO. I remember hearing various cuts off of those albums before they dropped andreally anticipating the full project on the release date. I have no motivation to listen to the rest of his new album. Maybe I can be swayed...whoknows...I'm just curious as to why you enjoy it, and possibly I'll give it another try.
 
Why dont you just listen to the album? Why would we convince you? That's the CD's job. In my opinion the only way to listen to 808s is from front toback, there are hardly any "single" worthy songs on there. But as an overall album, it is a masterpiece.
 
the cd is great off the production alone, the beats are beautiful, although I'd rather hear him rap the !%@+ is still nice
 
If you don't like it, move on. Simple.

Why try to like it?? It's not imperative that you be a fan of this CD.

Some people are touched by certain things, some people see that thing and feel nothing.
 
I've listened to it a few times. It's Ok, I'm going to give it a few more spins to get a better feel for it, but I think I was just expecting tomuch. Graduation is one of my favorite albums ever.

Like D723 said, there isn't any singles, it's really an album you need to listen to all the way thru.
 
Because it's cool, that's why. It's not the next great must have album, but it's cool, you'll dig a few of the beats and a few of theconcepts and all that. There's a pretty fly Jeezy verse on there. Give it a spin on the strength that Kanye West has already given you Through The Wire,Jesus Walks, All Falls Down, Diamonds From Sierra Leone, Golddigger, Touch The Sky, Good Morning, Can't Tell Me Nothing and the whole Blueprint album. Itmight surprise you.

I feel the same way. My bro and friends say I'm too stuck in the formula and all this !%%. I can't f with the auto tune @ this point. I've seenTPain live w/o it and he sucked horribly. I coulda dealt with Ye singing, but not with AT.
 
I just hate what the final version of welcome to heartbreak sounds like "bad news" is wack but besides that the album is dope imo

It's not wanting to be force fed garbage, but what am I missing on this album that many people are calling a masterpiece? I just couldn'tfeel it after the songs I listened to. I was just looking for any recommendations on his album that I haven't listened to that could sway my opinion.
 
Anyone proclaiming this a masterpiece is a stan. Level headed people recognize this as trash.

You been here long enough to know there are certain artists that no matter what they release, NT will deem a "masterpiece".

Have you not noticed how hard 'Ye gets slurped on NT? Like I've said before he could fart over a decent beat and 85% of this board would enjoy it.
 
Its ok...

Paranoid is a standout track though. You should atleast listen to that one
 
If you're needing people to convince you to listen, you should take it as a sign it doesn't need to be listened to.

Well out of those 3 songs you've heard, Robocop and Love Lockdown are arguably two of the more weaker songs on the cd.

I don't think that you should can convinced to listen to this album...because if you wanted to listen to it, you would have done so already.

It's no "masterpiece" but I happen to like it...the funny thing is I can't even tell you why I like it, I just do.
