Well I was playing at a soccer tournament this morning and to make a long story short the keeper was going for the ball and I was going for it also so to avoida collision and me getting carded for kicking the keeper I jumped over him and my left foot got caught and my ankle snapped. I just got back from the hospitaland they told me the inside of my ankle was fractured..the mandible or some %**% like that so basically its broken. The bone is still lined up so their is agood chance I won't be needed screws and can just let it heal by itself with a cast on but damn i still can't believe this happened. I ain't gonnalie NT but your boy was real down when I heard the news and I did shed a few tears cause this never happened to me before. I'm a die hard athlete and loveto stay in shape and now my soccer and possibly track career is over..i'm a senior to top it off. Anyways has anyone ever broken their ankle before?..andhow long did it take to heal?

you will be good in a month or two. Stop being a little whimp!!

speaking of soccer, who is better C-Ronaldo or Kaka??

I haven't but a friend of mine broke his during a football game. Had surgery about 3 weeks ago and is still healing. I guess it takes some time.

ya dude i broke my collar bone the day after soccer tryouts my sophomore year i was out about 4 weeks but the i was back at it averaging a goal every two games

For you to be able to do anything, a month or a couple of months at the most.

You'll probably never have it at 100% again, unless it's just a small fracture.

You'll be able to start preforming at your usual levels in a couple months or more.

Edit: And you're a senior. That sucks, man. Especially if colleges were looking at you.

I managed to get through my season with only a sprained ankle. Wish the best for your track stuff. When you start walking on it again, ask your doctor if youcan put weights on it to help it get back to it's normal place. It might help.

That's the thing. If you need surgery it's gonna take awhile to heal but if i can just cast it up it shouldn't be as long.

yeah injury sucks %$%... tore my ACL and MCL in my left knee and getting surgery soon... i guess no more dunks for me

My man i feel for you. Senior year of high school football i fractured my ankle just before the first half of our FIRST game. I walked on it all weekend tryingto prove to myself it was fine but ended up having a fracture down the tibia and tore all of the ligaments in my ankle along with stretching out my tendons. Itoo was upset, but spent alot of time doing my exercises and taking care of myself and was back in the lineup in 4 weeks.

Ankles are easy to overcome if you take care of them. Dont worry you'll be back sooner then expected.

time to try to battle adversity. its bad news, but try to defy the odds. that sucks though. this is why education is so important

That's what I like to hear, glad you overcame it though and was dedicated to getting it right again.

Bro, I feel your pain....I broke my Tibia (shin bone) July 19 had surgery (rod and 4 screws) and washemmed up for about 3 months total...now I'm back running and training ....if you could afford to get surgery and you are eligible for it, you'd bebetter off because it will take MONTHS off of your rehab time....

either way, make sure your calcium and magnesium intake is high....that will also help yah

good luck, speedy recovery

Well I know others who have broken their tibia in a similar manner as I, they opted notto get the surgery and it took them about a year and a half to get to where I am....I am back playing indoor touch football and will be ready to try-out forsome Arena teams come January...read about it...again tho, I am not a Dr. and I don't know about ur specific injury and how it would exactly benefit....butI do kno - screws and plates make the healing time significantly shorter
