"blocks so hot, we fired the cops and hired some firemen"

why didnt this dude blow up? he hooked up with Justin and made some tracks and all I hear is these semi decent mix tapes, except for the ones he did earlier inhis career with Kay Sleezy and Whoo Kid. what happend here?

Once The Label Wanted Him To Put out some pop %%# and he wasn't feeling that he said that wasn't him and so left the label. But I Always though Saigon,Papoose, and Jae Millz had a chance to be the leaders of the new school from NYC. But i think that is over with. I Listen to all three them they always sometype heat to the track. But Seriously Saigon should blew up Just Because He Has Justin Blaze On His Side And He's Makes Most Of His Beats.

Millz is aight and Papoose i never really felt like that. i think thats the problem...we had some weak cats repping NYC when every other spot was blowing up.Corey Gunz needs to be blowing up too alongside this cat from Harl

IMO, majority of people buy "South" soundin' records, so a East Coast rapper wouldn't get as much promo as someone with that particularsound. Saigon on the other hand, I think he should have blown because of Blaze, but I guess it wasn't meant to be...the East needs a line up of nicerappers reeeeeeal soon.

man sai.. is nasty i will give him that....but lets foget all the raw hardcore stuff...cuz if u stay in that lane ... then guess what no money!!!!! thats it ugot to make a pop song or something that err body can feel u know...now days is diff u got to get something going and get it out...there...the south did andnow new york got to....errbody wants to get on the south fo makin songs like they do but guess what!!!!! they got money thats it.....

What you talking about? His earlier material didnt have a big DJ on it. He hasnt made a better track than Pop quiz though.

They killin me how they doin Saigon. Dude is real, and he got one of the best producers in the game. Jae Millz and Pap (Battle Rappers) Ain't built forthis +##. Theycan't make a hit to save their lives.

Actually, pap is a mixtape rapper. There's never been an official battle of him with anyone in the battling game.

Millz has a few bangers tho, but his promotion was weak.

Sai's put out enough material (mixtapes, features, remixes, etc.) to keep me satisfied for now but I'd like to at least see dude drop an album and havea chance at success

hmm.. what are you talking about? Best of Saigon aka Best of the Yardfather with DJ Kay Slay and DJ Whoo Kid. containing the hottest songs he haddropped to this day.

Say Yes and Favorite Things

Papoose had an incredible flow, he could have become major.
I mean, he literally blew up from spitting off of one music video (Touch It - Remix)
It wasn't even half a verse.

He's just been with the wrong people forever!
It's unfortunate that the whole Flipmode thing didn't work out...
& We all know that DJ Kay Slay ain't taking him nowhere.

Pap had an incredible flow??

thats usually what people didn't like about dude.

Haven't heard from him in ages.

where is Saigon also

Saigon still has Come On Baby on both his myspace and his "official" webpage. So that dude is done. Greatest Story Was due December last year, thenJanuary this year, then Just Blaze's birthday. After that I heard that they got released from Atlantic with full ownership of the album. I imagine that nomajor picked it up and even at 7 dollars an album there's not enough money in KOCH'ing it. Let's say he waited to see what Joey's Amalgamexperiment did but we've seen the miserable numbers of Halfway House so... let's just hope that HipHopGame.com get's it and drops it, word toGhetto Extraordinary.

The Greatest Story Never Told. How appropriate...

I still got hope for Millz, but I ain't feeling his Yung Money deal. And Papoose ain't gonna sell just off the fact he has no flow, and possibly make ahit single like you need to get sales. But his street songs are pretty good. And is it me or did Papoose start to force his Punchlines this year?

sick of mixtape rappers blaming the record labels

He was on Entourage, on Just Blaze's label (a Jay-z co-sign), and was the hottest mixtape rapper at the time

not much more buzz a record label can generate besides the artist delivering the lead single

I used to love Pap, but dude does the exact opposite of riding a beat. Worst flow I ever heard from someone who even got any sort of success.

Wow

1. His flow sucks
2. He was big in the streets, it had nothing to do with the video

The label still has to push your single to let the world know your about to drop. Atlantic knew what kind of artist Saigon was when they signed him, but stilltried to get him to do some ringtone sh*t. When he said no, they wouldn't invest anything in him.

His success came out of the video...
He was noticed by few on the streets, that video is what blew up his career and made people pay closer attention to him.

& His flow was just fine.

word to my second SN

but I talked to Sai a few weeks ago. definitely weighing his options and a couple of majors (with a powerhouse having the lead) are in the running. that'sall i can say
