We're also the only genre that the artists retire. Rolling Stone and AC/DC are still doing tours and Lupe and Game wanna "retire"after 3 albums. Rap dudes
think rap is basketball and its not, it's music. As much as I love it, hip hop can be wack in alot of ways.

I think because writing takes alot more work than other music genres, at least for some rappers. You have to write twice as much as most musicgenres, but like I said earlier this doesn't affect some, mostly the ones who write about the same thing all the time (Lil Wayne).I'd much rather have3 solid, amazing albums by Lupe than 10+ mediocre albums by someone else.

This year is the worst, nothing but alright albums. Only ones that stood out was Untitled, Evolver, and Rising Down.

I like 2008 just because it's been the year that I've found out about artists such as KiD CuDi, Wale, Drake, etc... Plus The Recession, Paper Trail,808s, Carter III, have all been pretty damn good to me.
