i think this pretty much sums up the whole takeover/ether debate.. takeover was the stronger record in hindsight.. but no one had heard from nas for a while(his mom just died) .. and he came out with that track.. i remember everyone going

That's because he isn't seperating the moment from the music. In that moment, Nas was on his last legs with the "finish him" over his head,but he came back strong with Ether. It was like David finally striking back at Goliath. Now if you just look at the 2 songs and nothing else, its obviousthat Takeover is the stronger diss record.
