5 months later, let's have a discussion about Nas' Untitled.

Used to knock this every morning when I first moved in this crib...got to see him live again this year...one of my favorite albums of this year....

2008 wasn't such a bad year musically afterall...

Hero can't get play cuz bird walk is hoggin the air waves...especially as a "summer single"...please wayne was all over the radio I didn'tlisten much but everytime I was in my girls car I'd hear A Milli @least twice...he kinda dropped the ball releasing the video for "make the world goround" so late. That should of been his summer single

Album is greatly appreciated. And damn it seems like it was just a few weeks back it was released.

Heres how i rank Nasir's albums though;

1. Illmatic
2. Stillmatic
3. IWW
4. Untitled
5. Lost Tapes
6. Gods Son
7. Nastradamus: the album is very underrated IMO, I know everyone says its weak, but i think its alright with the exclusion of like 2 tracks
8. HHID
9. I Am...
10. Streets Disciple

If a song off this album comes up on shuffle, it's hard to get into it and then move on to another completely unrelated track.
I have to listen to the entire album.

solid album.... too hard not to bump all the way through. there are usually songs on a Esco album i dont like but this one has none. I can bump this all dayeveryday.

Ehh I would have to put it like this....

Stillmatic
Illmatic
God's Son

Yes, I really feel Stillmatic is better than Illmatic, but not by much.

I don't really care too much for the rest as WHOLE ALBUMS. Sure they got some songs but eh....

CLASSIC . . .

1. Illmatic
2. Stillmatic
3. Untitled

Amazing album, NaS is evolvin into what I believe will be the GREATEST MC OF ALLLLLLL TIME . . . I mean that's 4 classic albums, I don't like IWW, butA LOT of people do, and in their eyes he's ATLEAST at 3 classic albums, add Untitled and Lost Tapes, that's 5 classic albums, one of them being thehands down BEST hip hop album of all time . . . I mean his body of work clearly speaks for itself, lyrically he's been the standard for GREAT lyricism forabout 15 years, and has remained as one of the most inovative artists in the game . . . Show that man some damn respect.

It's nominated for a grammy, it wasn't slept on too much.

I agree with listening to this album in its entirety though. That's a positive and a negative about it.

Great... Great...album
Testify currently is 3rd on my top 25 songs... Was the album nominated for a grammy?

I applaud Nas for this. I did like this album and the concept. I mean who else can put out an album on such a touchy matter, basically recieve no promo, andstill go gold. I don't see anyone really doing this, and NaS' creativity and skill has kept him relevant after all these years. NaS is definitely theGOAT imo, and if not top 3 easily.

I haven't listened to it through and through in a lil bit, but I could def. go back at any time and do so.

I never understtod that.

Which beats do you have a really big problem with?
IMO, the beats fit the music like a glove.

Naw, but which songs do you particularly havea problem with?
They're not uptempo 'Made You Look' or 'Serious' type beats, but those beats would not match the subject matter... at all.

I agree with you on Street's Disciple, which I personally feel is his weakest album( most of the beats were wack) but not on Untitled. The beats on thisalbum fit every track, they definately set the mood for what he was trying to get across...

There isn't tons and tons of replay value in the album, but lyrically, it's great. Probably, the best album of 2008, lyrically ...

This my "Black Power-Afro Pick-Dashiki-Fist in the Air-Revolution-Boycott-Etc." album.
