So, maybe the admins should do something about this Trojan virus *#+##+#$.

how do you get the trojan? if i havent clicked the ads, am i safe? and how do i know if i have it?

I never clicked on any add and always had two anti-virus popup blockers going so I'd be weary of it. Eventually one of my virus scanners started alertingme of it but by then it was already too late.

you should contact Meth regarding that.

Here's the thing though... every site you visit has the potential to generate a malware popup from the ads. We as the staff and users ourselves rely on yuku, google and yahoo (and whoever served the ads) to filter that malware out.

but, no matter what those servings the ads do...they'll always be a step behind those creating viruses and trojans....You should also do everything you can do, to try and protect your computer by installing a firewall and several antivirus and anti-spyware programs and running them consistently.

I agree- but it seems a little careless if you're going to install all that stuff, to then be continually visiting NT when it's becomevery high-risk for such malware/viruses.

There has to be a better solution than just "deal with it", right? Aren't there other ad-generating places which have stricter policies on theiradvertisements? They may not be able to go through yuku, but maybe that's not such a bad thing either.. if we had to move the board again and take controlover the advertising ourselves.

Damn....it never happened to me but yesterday my anti-virus thing blocked something like 4 times when i was on NT....I hope my laptop is fine

I won't be. Until they get this fixed I'll only be on NT when I'm on campus which won't be very often since the break is comingup. It sucks but it's necessary.

I certainly agree with you...and hopefully we'll be able to have control of the ad's we serve soon. There are logistics involved with thatthough.

I really dont' know what else to give you guys.

I'm certainly pissed. This type of thing shouldn't have happened to NT and yuku again... given last month's episode...but it did. The only thing Ican tell you is that we contacted the Customer Service Reps and contacted the CEO of Kickapps to make sure that this doesn't drag out for a whole month --like last time.

Can you let us know if yuku is taking any proactive steps to make sure that the ads that are being served do not get hit again with malware?
I can understand it happening once...but this is the 2nd time within the past 2½ months.. that's not a very good rate.

Our users are very concerned for their computers and privacy, and rightfully so.

I would hope that yuku is being proactive with those companies whose ads they are using, to make sure that this type of attack on user's PCs are limited.

I know you've been very good about dealing with customer service dirty, and we all appreciate the time you put in to trying to take care of this sort ofstuff.

Just frustrating how bad this move has proven to be for us so far.. i'm confident it'll be taken care of in due time though, one way or another.I've got faith.

wow. I had no idea about this. I mostly do NT on my work comp but looks like I will be stopping that. and I too have a mac at home so wondering if I'm okon that..

LOLWUT? How is it my fault? I place the responsibility directly on the shoulders of Yuku for being money hungry and accepting ads from unsecure sites thattransfer all these viruses onto our beloved forum.

Seriously!!! I even get them on my Mac too.. I do the "f9" trick and find them.. then when i try to click it- it goes away. Soannoying.. f'in Yuku
 
I KNEW IT!! Bout a month ago I randomly posted a reply in a thread asking if anyone had this ad.server. IP address freezing their pc's, butNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Did anyone care?!?!?!?! lol Now you're all suffering like me!! mooohahahhhhahaha!! Sorry, just had to. I thought I was the only one. Hopeeveryone works out their bugs.

dude, i remember that thread. i was getting ready to respond, but my laptop froze up, and everytime i tried to answer that particular threador any other, it would keep freezing up.

i thought i got a hold of some bad porn, but yuku has been behind this the whole time.
