As far as Dead Presidents...The word is, Nas was gonna do the record, but everytime he was supposed to come to the studio he wouldn't show up. After thishappen a couple times, Hov was pissed and didn't want him on the record no more. After that they was more so not on speaking terms than beefing.

The problem obviously started after the whole dead presidents thing, but also it has been known that one of the reasons Jay jumped in because Nas and MemphisBleek (
) were taking shots at each other on wax from time to time.. Ijust saw an interview w/ Bleek a few weeks ago on Onsmash and he basically reiterates that Jay jumped in after he and Nas had been goin back and forth..
That's obviously not the clear cut reason why Jay goes in but it was a factor.
