(minus death)...its a damn shame years from now, only time dudes will really remember him when they think about Jay/Rocafella.

I mean, I used to blame Jay, Dame and them, but when you look at the work Free has been putting in, this N' Beans been in the game officially for 10 yearsnow, 1 OFFICIAL MIXTAPE??? (an even that wasnt completely new material)
smh.gif
...last time I heard him spit was that Wale Cypher, he murdered that...

Imo, in his prime, no rapper had a higher max than Beans as an MC, had the ability to outshine anybody...

Agreed

Beans was my dude

"Had a spark when ya started but now ya just garbage"
Jay lines ring true for even his own peoples

I still listen to his stuff tho, no denying talent

VERY agreed.

i love Beans too...but The solution was garbage...his zenith was The b.Coming....

he's not completely done lyrically...but i dunno if he's relevant

^yea, pretty much the point I was tryna make...I think with the Solution, he said in an interview that he couldnt go in because of his situation, but Ithink he just aint give a *$$*, that **** was lousy. He was 3/3 before that tho, The B. Coming is on a VERY short list of great rap albums since it dropped.

dont get it #@$#!# up tho Twig, he not garbage, the boi will never be garbarge...its not like he cant spit no more.

he's more like the Bob Sanders of the rap game, when he on the field, AINT NO DENYING dude, but got damn, he's hardly ever playin....
"Beans I aint tryna change you, just give you some game...
...to make the transition...from the streets to the fame"

there was some definite miscommunication there...

^^ great analogy there

His mic presence is insane. Up there with the greats imo. When you hear Mac on a track you really can feel what he's saying.

I'm not gonna disagree with you on the talent tip...Beans is one of my all time favorite rappers...his most underrated aspect is his versatility
Club bangers:
Dance With Me Remix
Do It Again
Emotional Songs:
Change Gonna Come

Feel It In The Air
Pimp $#%#:
Oh Daddy

I Got What You On

And of course just straight vicious spitting
Beanie (Mack $%#@%)
The Truth
What Ya Life Like etc etc

With that said, I have to disagree with the statement that he doesn't have much to show for it...4 Gold albums, a ton of hot songs and guest appearances, along-spanning career. Yeah he'll never be a superstar and maybe he's slowed down a bit recently, but you have to remember the behind the scenes $#%#often works against him and his legal situation is an issue. He certainly has had enough exposure that if he was ever gonna BLOW, he would have by now.

Take an artist like Saigon, he's not as talented as Beans, but he has almost NOTHING to show for being in the rap game. I'm sure any up and comingrapper would take Beanie's catalog and accomplishments in a heartbeat.

that mixtape of his with all the freestyles getting at Nas and Jada and a bunch of other random freestyles is M.I.A.
I've been looking for that mixtape for at least 3 years

Nah, we on the same page, dude got classic joints, posted them in the topic...I dont think you really get how I view Beans tho. Talent/skill wise and what hehas to offer as a MC (from Deep ****, to street/d-boy ****, battle-rap bars, got club bangers), his name shoulda been up there with Nas, Big, Pac, Jay,whoever (there is not one thing any of those rappers can go on a record that Beans cant damn near just as well or better)....but unless you a realhiphop head, its a chance dude just might be forgot about in the long run.

Like Sai aint got nothing to show for in the rap game, but the ratio of talent-to-accomplishement for Beans is still higher to me. I f's with Sai, but atthe end of the day, it was Just Blaze production that was gon put him over the top. Sai nice, but he really aint that lyrical, he just got greatcontent, almost in the same vein as a Pac, Styles, etc.

Like I said, I used to think it was the politics, but the same +$+* happened with Freeway, and look, this dude dropping new joints everyday. Nobody is stoppinyou from a doing a damn mixtape, and this N' only got one official joint in the 10 years been out...aint no justification for that.

Your boy is stuck in the streets. I truly believe that has a lot to do with where Beans is right now.

Some of you probably know heads. They just can't shake it. You try to look out, try to help them, but they just LOVE the streets.

Dude always had cases. Wild *!# drug problems.

I still haven't given up on Beans...I'm hoping that if Free can turn this month of madness into some spotlight he'll throw Beanie on some tracksand get him back on the rap scene.

Word I agree with a lot that's been said in this post and I'm a big Beanie fan, but like others said his grind and dedication just isn't there.

Still got mad love for him though, but can you imagine if he had the work ethic and dedication of say Lil Wayne what he would have been like
